Wonder who the musicians are, they sure sound like Woolies, one of his favorite backup road bands out of the East Lansing MI area. Esp. since there is a harmonica on this. So I checked out the personal, it WAS Bob Baldori from the Woolies on harmonica, and piano overdubs. Damn I have a good ear lol. I just heard that influence inthe sound since I grew up in the area.

So there was this band in the 70's in the French Canadian scene, probably the biggest rock band to rock that region (in french) and they had this song called "Chu un Rocker", where they translated the lyrics to this song into french and rocked the shit out of it. I just learned that the lyrics were written by Chuck Berry, this guy never disappoints!

Not just the guitar intro, but also the lyrics. The wild version of Reelin and Rockin shares some of the same lines ' She says she don't but I know she do, I jumped back firm like a cement mix' etc. His Run Run Rudolph is pretty much the same tune as Little Queenie, and of course School Day and No Particular Place to Go are actually the same musically... Chuck was into recycling long before it became the 'in' thing:-) I still love him, and adore his live performances - such charisma and talent!

The World Is A Lesser Place

Although it has been many years since he had hit records, knowing that Chuck Berry was in the room made all the difference in the world. I feel so bummed by all of this. The great Daddy-O has died, and left us. But, God, what he has left us with!

Understanding that the man who created Rock and Roll was still in the world, even at 90, was a kick in the jams to anyone who ever wanted to play a guitar or ring a bell. All of the Johnny’s out there who aspire to become rock and rollers need ONLY to listen to Chuck Berry, steal his licks, and from then on take a ride on the Rocket 88 and groove.

I never saw Chuck in concert and for me that is a void that cannot be repaired. But we will always have the music; the kick ass, amazing SOUNDS of the man who towered over everybody. The Beatles, Stones, Who, Elvis; they all copied Chuck Berry. How could they not? He wrote the Bible!

Atheists can say that Chuck Berry has ceased to exist. Yes, he has left the building. But he has left it with such an incredible discography, that hundreds of years from now, people of all ages will be making out in the backseat of whatever device we will be riding in to Mr. Rock and Roll.

Seems like I am rather sad and depressed tonight, no? And I am. One of the great wonders of the world is no longer in it. I am usually full of words, but I could fill up FaceBook and never come close to paying proper tribute to this man.

But “Maybellene”, “Too Much Monkey Business”, “Brown Eyed Handsome Man”, “Roll Over Beethoven”, “Rock and Roll Music”, “Johnny B. Goode”, “Memphis”, “Back in the USA”, “Promised Land”, and so many others remain with us.

And so will Chuck Berry, as long rock and roll lives on.

And that will be forever. That is his legacy!

The world can never be the same whit out you the late great mr rcck n roll r.i.p my true rock n roll hero.

Don't let anyone be misled......this genius was GOD of Rock and Roll.....far above King! We will all miss you Chuck.
