Bee Gees - Turn Of The Century Lyrics

Ev'rythings happening
At the Turn Of The cent'ry.
I'm gonna buy myself a time machine
go to the Turn Of The Cent'ry.
And all those people passing by
And the town crier makes his cry
At the Turn Of The Cent'ry,
Turn Of The Cent'ry.

Big wide hats and men is spats
At The Turn Of The Cent'ry.
With those horseless carriages
At The Turn Of The Cent'ry.
And there are lots of things to do
on a bicycle built for two
At The Turn Of The Cent'ry,
Turn Of The Cent'ry.

Ev'rythings happening
At The Turn Of The Cent'ry.
I'm gonna buy myself a time machine
go to The Turn Of The Cent'ry.
And all those people passing by
And the town crier makes his cry
At The Turn Of The Cent'ry,
Turn Of The Cent'ry.
Turn Of The Cent'ry.

Bee Gees Turn Of The Century Comments
  1. J.... S....

So who is who on the front cover? There were only three Bee Gees, Barry, Robin, and Maurice. Andy was just a little kid when this came out.

  2. A.... S....

To me, this song is as good and melodic as any Beatles hit. I'm surprised it's not more well known.

  3. A.... P....

To be completely honest, I love this era better than their disco music.

    A.... P....

    I perfectly agree, dear alban!

  4. R.... S....

Reflecting the group's early style, Bee Gees' 1st was a psychedelic pop album. The album cover was designed by Klaus Voormann who had previously done the cover for Revolver by The Beatles. Bee Gees 1st peaked at No. 7 on Billboard's Pop Albums chart and at No. 8 on the UK Albums Chart. In 2006, Reprise Records (sister label to Atco under Warner Music Group) reissued the album with both stereo and mono mixes on one disc and a bonus disc of unreleased songs and alternate takes. (This 2-CD set on Reprise corrected the fluttering on the lead-off stereo track "Turn of the Century". The mono version never had this problem.)

Ronnie Smith I love this era better than what they did for disco music.

  5. E.... C....

Yoko Ono screamed at 1:19 and 1:20. :c

    E.... C....

    Elson CM Yoko Ono sucks.

    E.... C....

    Indeed!!!! Undoubtedly!!!!

    E.... C....

Elson CM But still, this is a masterpiece of a song, isn't it?

  6. J.... B....

    Nice baroque/psychedelic pop

  7. C.... H....

Es una grán canción de los comienzos de Bee Gees, en todas sus versiones, superatractiva.

  8. G.... r....

The first part sounds a lot like The Kinks' "Sunny Afternoon".

  9. E.... B....

Early BeeGees was pretty innovative stuff.Thxs for the upload.-Eric.

    E.... B....

The BeeGees early stuff is Very innovative. The more I listen...the more amazed I become at their songwriting artistic abilities!! Hate the fact that they really became mostly known for Disco...when their prior catalog has tons of songs that showcases their sheer artistry........

    Bee gees never die

  19. a.... ....

A pure 60's sound! l agree with SecretTimeWarp - the name of this album is a bit pathetic. l'm surprised that Barry allowed it. It's not true, but also boring. Altho' l like the logo.

  20. B.... T....

    Yes.It is Klaus Voorman(Manfred Mann's bassist).

  21. S.... ....

This album title's one of rock's greatest lies - just like "Meet The Beatles" and "The Beatles' Second Album". :-P (For those who choose to be anal, this was the Bee Gees' *third* album; fourth if you count 'Inception Nostalgia'.)

    S.... ....

I presume you include the Rare Precious and Beatiful later releases of the early material, but this was indeed their first proper album release. Why would they title it so if it were not so?

  22. k.... ....

    Great track.

  23. b.... ....

This was long before Barry started inhaling helium.

  24. h.... ....

By the way ... I played this song on January 1st 2000 :-)

  25. g.... ....

    The Best, Bee Gees First

  27. A.... ....

    This is good music, y'all.

  28. S.... P....

this was my first BG LP and i still think it's the best one.

  29. S.... K....

    @SecretTimeWarp You are correct!

  30. S.... ....

Didn't someone notable design that cover? Klaus Voorman (the Beatles' friend who designed "Revolver"), I think??

    S.... ....

Its true. German graphic designer Voorman also designed "Idea" album cover too. it has a lot to tell on semiotics side. Great art work.

  31. r.... ....

A terrific little piece from the early (teens?) days of The incredible BEE GEES ...
