Beach Boys - Brian's Back Lyrics

Teenage gamblers
Sittin' in a Rambler
Listenin' to the radio
And then standing in the grandstand
Following the gameplan
Watching life's plays unfold

You fell in love with a pretty cheerleader
I even married one
And we once rode a cab out in Salt Lake City
Comin' up with "Fun Fun Fun"
(Fun fun fun)

They say that Brian is back
Well I've known him for oh so long
They say Brian is back
Well I never knew that he was gone
Still they say "Brian is back"
I know he's had his ups and downs
Well they say "Brian is back"
But in my heart he's always been around

I still remember
Their soundin' sweet and tender
Singin' "Danny Boy" on Grandma's lap
And those harmony highs
Could bring tears to my eyes
I guess I'm just a sentimental sap

"Good Vibrations" caused such a sensation
Not to mention ol' Pet Sounds
And we traveled the world
As the banners unfurled
I guess you'd have to say we got around
(We got around we got around)

They say that Brian is back
Brian is back
They say that Brian is back
(Brian is back)
Well I've known him foroh so long
And the say "Brian is back"
Well I never knew that he was gone
Still they say "Brian is back"
(Brian is back)
I know he's had his ups and downs
Well they say "Brian is back"
But in my heart he's always been a-round

ah ah ah ah ah ah

I lived with Mike and Brian was my house guest albeit with handlers a crooked Dr who had no bonus or parachute endgame to getting Brian "Well and back" I mean why would he want to stop $25,K a DAY? He cut intro our recording sessions to attempt and grill Brian Wilson and Jamie Fresh (me) the unholly unthinkable disrespect in that moment against not just Brian Wilson for any and all Rockstar this is too much for me to handle I let him have it because I wanted Brian to know he was important that should never happen and and now then push the doctor fake doctor against the window Jordans the door you just interrupted a Brian Wilson recording that could be worth millions and millions sure Capitol Records John Branca Mike Love would be very upset and interested at you stopping a BRIAN WULSON RECIRDING!! I I was defending not just Brian Wilson but the royalty of rock and roll and after weeks of getting Brian confidant daring to take a chance see how it was to record without scrutiny or pressure our dumbass didn't know what the fuck they were talking about like his dad...I had to go big let Brian realize HOW IMPORTANT anything and everything that he does is needless to say it was a major scene I think Brian got the point but so did the doctor I love Brian...I put a end to that...but then he kidnapped Brian...Mike and I would jog every morning and ex CIA DC bodygaurds wolud be running aside Mike from threats by Dennis. .I just think they are the most interesting misunderstood super group " band" of all time .. Yoko Loved Sean performing Sail on Sailor..and Sir Paul McCartney you are a solo artist full on...and your gracious induction of Brian from the heart was so golden that you both shined as the true legendary superstars artists icons you are......Elton bro you brought that tech musician shit to the tribute and gave meaning to what the fuss was about in the genius label attach to Brian how he invented and things never done never before done
The Beach Boys from " In My Room" "Dont Worry Baby" "Help Me Rhonda" Surfer Girl" "Only With You ..."God Only Knows..".California Girls"...Good Vibrations" Kokomo was all Mike . Even McCartney loved Mikes lyrics at breakfast in India the two collaborated Paul humming ruff of new song and Mike wrote couple key lyrics for The Beatles/Sit Paul U.S.S.R. "THE WEST COAST GIRLS
    REALLY KNOCK ME OUT..."
Ya know everyone of these comments has a common thread each member has a pecticular talent (different ) and (as a whole) make a great group! The funny sad truth was Brian waa so normal hep eargar to know what the current hits were and all that we were like kids in high school..I waa turning him onto the lastest and getting him pumped up motovated and no one was treating him with respect...all out to carve a niche need to get on the payroll ..keeping the BOYS at odds rumors false insults or etc...kept everyone (dozens of handlers duplicate agents managers advisors body gauards off tour etc..on the payroll...especially GL not a real Dr. Couldnt write Rx ...Irefuse to say or write his name...I met Brian with genius concept by MIKE LOVE to have me take a shot at having BRIAN WILSON stay with me on the sprawling Santa Barbara Escape behind gates with a $Million mobile recording unit that Mike brought and pur right in front of my house above the crashing waves and nude beach below...yea! The ultimate ...the time alone behind gates recording studio mobile.. The Gurus aa we called the staff all Maharishi devotees under Mikes control bugged us cause tgey were so square void of the world with negative looks like we were weird...they had no clue what fucking babes and driving Ferraris was about..leather pants or Brians Salad bowl asstray and cartoon of Marlboros was a sin ib their shaking heads...I got Brian and me into all night in the studio with noone bothering us and sleeping and or sneeking out in my custom new Corvette with factory limo black out tinted windows****(we owned SB I got a police escort back when drivng Myrna Smith of THE SWEET INSPIRATIONSin her ELVIS CADDILLAC ELDORADO BABY BLUE CONVERTABLE AFTER a couple bottles of Dom Perignon Champagne) Police knew our cars but the moment Brian and me would go say into Carls Jr or record like Bees out of no where fans crowds...they think they owned Brian like he was obligated to sign autographs take pictures so I stopoed any public outings except El Encanto 1129 the places Gov Brown Linda Ronstandt went high roller private...Im rambling got lost in the memory but I never forget how trenmendiously huge THE BEACH BOYS HAVE BEEN AND ARE...WOLDWIDE .. any country even if they don't speak English everybody smiles and nods Beach Boys

  15. A.... ....

The Beach Boys wouldn’t be The Beach Boys without Mike Love. He and Brian were the core of the beginning of this band and wrote brilliant music together. Mike loves Brian so much and it’s a shame people think otherwise and are so one sided and in denial over Mike’s contributions.

    A.... ....

Singers are replaceable, creative geniuses are not. Mike was great on the early good timing classics, but his contributions are limited on more ambitious material.

    A.... ....

there's a reason why Mike never went solo even when he disagreed with the direction the band was taking, Mike Love was and is nothing without Brian Wilson's compositions and arrangements.

  16. S.... M....

    Mike Love is a cunt

  17. W.... ....

The photo shown here is -----for better & worse-----sadly emblematic of The Boys, & where they were as The Beach Boys, in the Late 70's, just prior to Carl's sabbatical in October of '80. And, It is far more revealing than any of the written words about the group that came out in the years from " Endless Summer", to " Keeping The Summer Alive" . ---------------WolfSky9

Look at Brian's eyes on the album cover... he looks scared as hell!

  23. p.... ....

Mike Love is a God. Whilst all the other Beach Boys were getting high and drunk and some messing around with Charlie Manson, Mike kept the ship tight and continued with great music. To a true Beach Boys fan, like me, he is the uber man!!

Diane, please buy a ticket for The Beach Boys at Hampton Court this summer and buy me a beer instead of praying to a god that gave up on me years ago. Happy New Year to you.

policemanandrew Mike gets a lot of criticism...I made something in defence of him, to see it simply type in these words to the search bar.....in defence of Mike Love

    p.... ....

I'm not that much of a Mike Love fan, but I agree with your general assessment.
Tired of all the people supporting the 'dancing bear' Brian who should have never gone on stage so many times.
Btw...Murray Wilson is not given the credit he did deserve to start the BBs on a course they could take over on their own.

    p.... ....

topgeardel See this in defence of Mike Love https://youtu.be/aTYXQzzMuiY

    p.... ....

Mike Love was an integral part of the Beach Boys. The Wilson brothers were the "sound' of the Beach Boys . The high angelic blood harmony they displayed was draw of the band. Al and Bruce were and are amazing but no Wilson's (including Dennis) and its like the Beatles without Lennon and McCartney .

  24. O.... P....

Is it love when Mike and others kicked him out of the group? Mike needed Bri. It was again Dennis, who was loyal to the genius.

    O.... P....

Sir, in '81, due to his drug use & absences, the group did kick BW out of The Boys. ----------It eventually resulted in BW getting re-connected to Landy, who did " save him" , only to turn into a rocker Wanna be. --------------------------WolfSky9, 72 y/o

  25. O.... P....

Get emotional. But Mike is a hypocrite. He needed Bri, cause of money and Capitol. Mike knows Brian was absent.-Carl always great.

  26. Y.... T....

Christ, the Beach Boys were fucking shit.

  27. j.... ....

They say that Brian is back....until Mike Love fires him.

    j.... ....

No-on fires Brian from anything. all greats: Neil Young, Dylan, Beck, Crosby, McC...want to work with him.

    j.... ....

+Olli Paavilainen Well, Mike did. Kind of. Melinda had some part in that, too.

  28. j.... e....

This is sad everyone arguing about who was the best. They all added something. Some more some less. As Dennis Wilson himself said Brian Wilson is The Beach Boys and we are his messengers. Mike Love had his share of problems too, let's not forget. He (Love) rides on the coat tails of Brian's genius. He has added some lyrics, but he can't come close to Brian Wilson and never will. He uses The Beach Boys name as a cover band, they are not The Beach Boys. He comes up with one or so new songs., and makes most his money off The Beach Boys name, and off the hits that Brian mostly wrote with a little help from Mike, as if he needed it. As for Brian he could not be better. He has a great band now including BB Al Jardine and doing great. RIP Carl and Dennis. Without Brian Wilson there would have been no Beach Boys.

    j.... e....

Stop bashing Mike. He was part of the biggest band ever so show some respect. His voice fit the group.

    j.... e....

@zzzzImTired You're gonna comment that shit on the one comment NOT bashing mike?

  29. n.... r....

When Carl sings the title I feel the world getting better place

    n.... r....

Carl had the voice of an angel.

    n.... r....

Mike Love has this song on his album Unleash The Love CD2

  30. E.... W....

Well, this is just fucking awful.

  31. C.... E....

nice bit of listenable nonsense made sweet by the Carl refrain, w/out "the rock" this is the pits

  32. J.... L....

To all the idiots who think Mike Love is a hack, that's his lyrics on tons of Beach Boys hits including, Good Vibrations, Fun Fun Fun I get around, Do it again, and tons more. Get your facts straight. People love the Beach Boys for many reason one being the Positive Lyrics that Mike wrote for Brian's Music. Love all the Beach Boys, they all added something.

    J.... L....

John Lennon can’t argue with John Lennnon!

    J.... L....

John Lennon was a dick-head too though, to be perfectly honest. It is what it is, and Mike Love is far from alone there. Doesn't mean he doesn't love Brian. Those issues are more complicated than any of us can understand. This is actually a pretty sweet and heart-felt song.

    J.... L....

i LIKE MIKE TOO. BUT i CAN NAME 15 OF THE BEST BEACH BOYS SONGS THAT HAD NOTHING OR VERY LITTLE TO DO WITH MIKE . IF YOU LOOK AT THE EARLY CAR SONGS , MIKE WROTE LYRICS TO SOME OF THEM . HES WITTY AND GOOD . BUT THE BEST LYRICS IN THEIR CAR SONGS WERE WRITTEN BY GARY USHER AND ROGER CHRISTIAN , ALONG WITH BRIAN WHO GAVE THE LYRICIST THE GENERAL IDEA OF WHAT HE WANTED .WOULDNT IT BE NICE / DONT WORRY BABY /GOD ONLY KNOWS / Heroes and villians / lITTLE DUECE COUPE / iN MY ROOM . BRIAN WROTE SURFER GIRL AND TILL i DIE AND OTHERS BY HIMSELF / he could write Lyrics too. He wrote so many songs he needed help with lyrics so he could go on to the next one / Mikes bass vocals added a lot but the parts were written by Brian / i LOVE MIKES VOICE BUT THOSE SONGS WOULD STILL HAVE BEEN HITS BY SI MILAR SINGERS. CASE AND POINT Surf City Jan Berry / Little Honda the Hondells . Once again I like Mike but he claims to have written Kokomo it was already a song written by John Phillips and Terry Melcher and Scott Mckenzie / Mike added the best part Aruba Jamaica / BUT HE DIDNT CREATE THE SONG - HES GOOD AT ADDING TO SONGS / AND HE RARELY MENTIONS THE OTHER 3 SONGWRITERS . WALT DISNEY CREATED MORTIMER MOUSE . HIS WIFE CAME UP WITH CAME UP WITH MiKEY So whos the genius / SOMETIMES YOU CANT SEE THE FOREST FOR THE TREES AND IT TAKES ONE LITTLE THING FOR SOMEONE TO COME UP WITH . iM SURE ALL GENUIS,S HAVE HAD A LITTLE HELP. Bottom Line no Brian no Beach Boys.

    J.... L....

his tenor voice is actually great wish he used more

    J.... L....

Its annoying when people judge famous musicians personal life. Like no one perfect. Some of you guys act like you personally know Dennis or lennon or who ever. It gets really old. I love the Beatles and beach boys. If this world judge less than we would be better off.

  33. A.... D....

    I Agree Bring Brian Back?

  34. A.... N....

Brian and Mike just need to be left alone without their respective handlers constantly interfering; sit down - and just talk to each other. Alone. Without the meddling!! I believe there is probably a lot of love between the two of them if they let their barriers down.

  35. s.... ....

Being from 1976, I feel this was an attempt to 'capitol-ize' on the recent hit 'Welcome Back' by John Sebastian.

    s.... ....

It was an attempt to capitalize on Brian Wilson. Kind of disgusting really

  36. j.... ....

What year was this made ?

  37. p.... ....

In Mike Love we trust. Mike Love IS the Beach Boys

  38. e.... s....

If Al moved over just a little, everybody would look so much better in this one.

  39. D.... L....

can't fucking stand mike love's voice when he's featured.

    D.... L....

    but i like it tho

    D.... L....

    u see my dilemma.

    D.... L....

All Mike Love has ever done is stand up for what he believes in, Sick of BW fans slagging him off. Carl was a womanizing lech who treated his brother like an imbecile, why doesn't he ever get any stick?

    D.... L....

mike love is more visible, and more vocal. That's my excuse. But you're probably right.

    D.... L....

Jocko Homo Carl was never a womanizer. where are you even getting this?

  40. S.... ....

The trouble with the refrain is that "Well, I never knew that he was gone" comes across as bragging that they were doing just fine without him.

    S.... ....

think he's sayingthat he never really left

    S.... ....

Yeah, but it's easy to misinterpret.

    S.... ....

What a joke!  They (BBz, Capitol etc.) needed Bri. They didn´t release an album if Bri wasn't´t present.

  41. s.... ....

Mike Love not War!   Love this song.  Love Mike and Brian and Carl ...and Al and Dennis and David and Bruce and Blondie and Ricky :)

    s.... ....

Good to hear from you, Mike.

    s.... ....

    foryourhead owned

  42. T.... ....

    fantastic!!!!!

  43. o.... ....

"Not to mention ol' Pet Sounds?" Left to Mike, no one would have heard ol' Pet Sounds.

    o.... ....

Sir, Mike had minimal influence on " Pet Sounds". It was Tony Asher who worked with BW on that Masterwork. Now, if he had any influence on "P.S." , it was minimal. THAT said, Mike did contribute Lyrics on so many BB songs, his contribution should never be ignored. Also, he had a perfect Bass voice. -------------WolfSky9, 71 y/o

    o.... ....

Sir, again : Mike had nothing to do with the creation of " Pet Sounds", Ok ?? He was on tour with the group in the Far East, while BW & Tony Asher were creating that Masterpiece. ---------What Mike did, was to write some of the very best lyrics in the rock-era, with BW's earlier music. and, he has a note-perfect bass voice in their harmonic structure. ---------------------WolfSky9

    o.... ....

Yeah, Mike never really opposed Pet Sounds or any of Brian's stuff. He was just irritated that they weren't as successful.

    o.... ....

@Benjamin Folkers He falsely gets accused of opposing Pet Sounds. It was Capitol Records who so viciously opposed it. He did have an issue with certain things about Smile, which he doesn't deny.....mainly some of Van Park's lyrics. He also was concerned that the band was leaving pop/rock entirely.......while the Beatles still were putting out mainstream things along with their far-out stuff. However, he can hardly be blamed for fully stopping Smile. Brian's mental condition, without question, brought an end to that more than any other reason. You can even tell by some of the music on Smile, how he was slowly going insane.

    o.... ....

@Bay Boggs Yep that's what i was saying

  44. T.... ....

This is actually a pretty well-written song. It's absurd on SO MANY levels with Love/Brian, don't get me wrong, but you can't deny it's got a catchy melody and damn good lyrics. I (MIke) Love this song!

    T.... ....

Very catchy song. The mike haters are out in force on every beach boys song criticising him. I have just made a vi deo called......In defence of mike love....... with a message from ron from the mike love appreciation society of london. To watch it simply type in the search bar above the following title........In Defence of Mike Love

    T.... ....

It's Carl's voice on the chorus that makes it sssssoooooooooo good.

  45. B.... ....

    I actually dig that song

  46. d.... ....

Mike Love is the most humorless looking individual I have ever seen.

  47. j.... ....

Wrong -- the Pet Sounds track they played on was That's Not Me.

  48. M.... J....

Furthermore, I even stated down below that Dennis was saving his best material for Pacific Ocean Blue. So apparently you having reading comprehension issues, Zach. If you think Carl Wilson, Jardine, or Mike Love were good songwriters, just point these great tunes out. And sure Brian Wilson had mental illness and didn't make a lot of music for several years. Guess what, those were the years the Beach Boys were most creatively bankrupt. Dennis even bribed him with hamburgers to write songs, fact

    M.... J....

Marcus Joyner Carl wrote long promised road. Mike (as much as I hate to admit) wrote big Sur, and Al wrote somewhere near Japan. so they all had their moments at least. Brian and Dennis were arguably the two best though

    M.... J....

Doctor Feinstone Arguably? Come on man, who is making any arguments that Brian Wilson and Dennis Wilson weren’t the two best songwriters in that band?

Those songs you mentioned, not exactly all timers. Mike Love can’t play music and thus cant write music, so he has little merit as a songwriters. He gets royalties based off cornball lyrics he wrote for a simpler time, one that he can’t break free from.

The true contribution from the others was the vocal blend and that they toured the music. Which are great accomplishments and things to be proud of. Just because some of these guys wrote some songs here and there on forgettable albums, doesn’t mean those songs had any artistic value. Carl Wilson is not Eddie Van Halen and Dennis Wilson is not Neil Peart

  49. M.... J....

@ bigzach1000 If you think Carl Wilson can play guitar like Glenn Campbell or Dennis can play drums like Hal Blaine, or that they were just filling in for the band while they were touring, then you're probably the one smoking something. Brian let them play on one track on Pet Sounds, You Still Believe In Me, and that's only because the song was about their childhood initially.

    M.... J....

Marcus Joyner nevermind the other albums the beach boys made that they DID play on. pet sounds is all that matters right?

    M.... J....

Doctor Feinstone What albums? The ones from pre 1964? They weren’t good players. Brian Wilson wasn’t a good bassist. He recognized that shortcoming and brought in the best players that he could hire to play the music.

Pet Sounds isn’t the only album that matters, but it is far and away his most acclaimed and one of the great recordings of the 20th century. So it’s appropriate to reference it when talking about if these guys had legit chops to play their instruments. The same could be said for the Monkees

  50. b.... ....

I think you have been smoking a little too much off the Brian Wilson hookah that has become so fashionable in the past 15 years or so. Of course, Brian is amazing. But there were good chunks of time where he was more concerned with eating chocolate cake than creating music. Outsourced players? How about you listen to any number of live cd's where they all play very capably, especially the early stuff where it was all just them.

  51. b.... ....

You are nuts... are you trying to say that Dennis and Carl couldn't write music? Brian was not the "end-all, be-all" of this group. And they really could play instruments. Brian brought in session players because they could read sheet music and because he intended to do a good deal of the recording while the band was on tour, making money to support the band. This is plain and simple a Mike Love composition that wasn't released until years after the fact. Do your research.

  52. L.... T....

Always the same, all Mike mistreat love, never recognize anything, this is a good tune, but like all mediocre fans hate Mike, by the mere fact of not having the talent of brian, serious and not hate ringo be like john lennon, or mc cartney, learn to enjoy every song, Brian, from Mike, from Carl, De to or dennis, do not compare everything with brian.

    L.... T....

adrian Parcifal they don't hate Mike because of talent, they hate him because he was a cocky asshole

  53. M.... J....

Btw, this song is completely lacking the BB sound you speak of, namely Brian Wilson's production and his outsourced players. The vocal blend is there but the harmonic arrangement is nothing special.

  54. M.... J....

Mike Love was the least talented member and yet he led to them turning into a laughable nostalgia act. He essentially sabotaged them as an artistic band. This is all without getting into his exploitation and bullying of a mentally ill man

    M.... J....

Carl outstanding as always. Mike wanted "the BB-formula". Why didn´t he start driving Formula-cars? Now he makes money with Bri´s songs. Good when Denny hit the asshole to the ground.

    M.... J....

@Olli Paavilainen When, and why, did Dennis hit him?

    M.... J....

Trevor Buckley I acknowledge that he made that comment two years ago, but I too, as well, and also are interested in knowing. Lol, it’s all still very new to me.. their music and all. I think Brian Wilson’s genuinely one of the most beautiful human beings. I’ve been going in chronological order putting on their records and I’ve just put on Sunflower. A beautiful album, I’m just unsure how I feel about mike love becoming a more central force within the group.

  55. J.... M....

reading some of these comments about the Beach Boys... I've realized that ive never seen a band with so much mixed feelings of love and hate from the fans.. the bb are way out of their prime guys..like 50 years out..cant we just leave them be and enjoy what they've given us? it seems like all we care about is bashing Mike..the words in this song are just as corny sounding as a lot of other Mike verses..but as fans havent we learned to accept that as the BB sound? Your not a BB fan if you

  56. M.... J....

No of the tracks there were musically stirring. They were so creatively bankrupt that they brought in two new members to help write songs! Dennis knew better, and saved his good songs for his solo album. Bruce left too. Holland was a wretched album and they once again had to crawl back to a mentally diseased Brian Wilson and squeeze a single out of him. Then they got popular as a nostalgia act and celebrated by dragging him out of his home to write and produce a new album for them.

  57. M.... J....

@ Jeff Gross I've listened to all of the Beach Boys stuff, I've heard the demos and alternate takes. Sunflower is a decent album. One good Dennis song, a good Brian song, and a bunch of middling stuff. Surf's Up is an awful album saved by three Brian songs at the end, one of which was five years old at the time. I mean, that's just a terrible album including some weak overt attempts at political commentary that lack any hint of subtlety, a song about foot care. Disney girls was good though

The Beach Boys have had endless instances of embarrassing lyrics - whether it's a love song comparing a relationship to a tennis match or school girls on their old laps... but musically, they are the best IMO. And "Brian's Back" is a great song musically. Catchy as hell. If you think "musically" they are nothing without Brian, you have some early 70s BB albums to listen to!

Actually, it was a lot more Carl who kept it going after Capitol. Mike did/does great by keeping the Boys going live, but in terms of their criminally underrated early 70s material? That was Carl. Then came the whole "Brian is Back" thing.

NO sarcasm. 100 percent behind the Lovester!!

lol You forgot to put {sarcasm} as the end of that post.

Mike Love is a God. When all hell broke loose, Mike was the ONLY one who kept The Beach Boys together.

Yes, his voice was not as sweet as Carl's and he had little musical ability compared to Brian, wasn't as good looking as Dennis and even Al showed great ability. But he kept them together FFS.

No Mike = No Beach Boys and for that I am ever grateful.

    LONG LIVE MIKE LOVE

Carl and Brian were blessed with perfect pitch voices. I sure do miss those old Beach Boys concerts from the early 70s and thereafter....

  64. M.... D....

Love this song. So touching :) means a lot to beach boys fans.

TheCraig = Melancholy Mike Love = Positivity :)

Now try writing a whole song from scratch ha ha not so easy. Mike took titles to Brians song and titles it Brians back and calls it a song.Carls vocals save the song.Mike is a piece of shit who was fortunate to be born into the Wilson family. No group in the world would make him a lead singer. Hes impossible to get along with just ask his 10 wives. W/O any Wilsons there is no BB R.I.P. Carl and Dennis.Thank you Brian for all your wonderful music

  67. T.... ....

So Mike "the douchbag" sues Brian numerous time to get song writting credits he clearly didn't deserve. Brian is absent for a few years so Mike churned out hit after hit after all he's a SONGWRITER. No they had 1 big song during that periodKokomo primarilary written by John Phillips.Writing a few words to a song whose basic elements are in place does NOT make you a song writer. Let me prove my point take any song thats written and try to come up with your own words pretty easy wasn't it CONT.

  68. k.... ....

"I never knew that he was gone"- typical that Mike Love wouldn't have a clue. And the line about Brian having his "ups and downs" is laughable. What BW went through was a hell of a lot more substantial than ups and downs.

  69. W.... T....

While I'm not really a fan of the Beach Boys' later stuff, this song is alright. There are certainly worse ones than this one. I'd call this average. The part that stands out for me is Carl's vocals, especially the "You Still Believe In Me" ending vocal.

  70. M.... J....

The song's lyrics are just terrible. However, Carl Wilson on the chorus is freaking amazing. And can we talk about the bridge to this song? You know the part where nothing really happens. It just goes to show how limited musically the Beach Boys were w/o Brian and his outsourced players. And it shows that Mike Love cannot write music

  71. M.... J....

They stole the You Still Believe In Me harmony on the tag
