Barry Manilow - One More Time Lyrics
One more time
As we lie by the firelight
Let me hold you
Til you have to go away
Don't let it end
One more thrill
While we're still in our solitude
One more moment
I can touch you tenderly
Can this be real?
Doesn't it feel like a fantasy?
When the night moves on
I'm afraid you'll be gone
With no reason or rhyme
A bit of tomorrow
Is that such a crime?
Why can't we make believe
That the evening has just begun
Close your eyes to the rising sun
And hold me one more time
When the night moves on
I'm afraid you'll be gone
With no reason or rhyme
So if I borrow
A bit of tomorrow
Is that such a crime?
Why can't we make believe
That the evening has just begun
Close your eyes to the rising sun
And hold me one more time

Barry Manilow One More Time Comments
My Pop went to Julliard and regularly saw Gerry Mulligan there. He'd passed away in 1990, but what irony when was to be locked in the basement of Gay and Christopher Streets in Manhattan, and every night i'd be serenaded with "2AM Paradise Cafe"'s "Big City Blues", among all the other gems on that album. In the late 1990s, after staying at the Algonquin and being disappointed with a Julie Andrews no-show on Broadway, by best friend and i happened to sit at Gerry Mulligan's table at The Blue Note, front-and -center watching Angela Bofill perform. Very cool! Anyway, this is one gorgeous song!
One of his all time best!
Belissima!! obrigada Paulo pela postagem. adorei a mistura da voz de Barry e o som de G Mulligan.

+Christa 2000 Yes, you´re right, this song is terrific but everytime I hear it, I go out of my mind and forget to comment. It´s a brilliant performance, you know he´s my all time favorite, his voice is fabulous and the fantastic sound of Gerry Mulligan(RIP) is out of this universe. A big hug for you my friend.
Thank you so much!

It is SO Fantastic that many/most of Barry's classic album cuts are being put on youtube.. the man is finally getting his critical due. This song may very well be the Perfect slow dance song. Fantastic song, with awesome work by Gerry Mulligan on the baritone sax.
