Barry Manilow - Night Song Lyrics

Listen
The city is singin' its night song
A city of shadows and fading starlight
Mixed with bar light
Listen
The empty streets echo the right song
A melody I used to think was only for the
Lonely
Night song
I hear you
Now as the night disappears
But this time
Your blues

Is music to my ears
The rumble of the train
The rustle of the wind
The rhythm of the footsteps
The blarin' of a horn
The murmur of a voice
The echo of a siren
Night song!

You used to find me cryin' in my beer
Now you remind me tomorrow she'll be here
She'll be here!
Oh, night song
You sing of a train from New Orleans
And deep in the music I hear her hummin'
Now she's coming home!
The city is singin' its night song
Listen

The Harmonics of that Song are particularly AMAZING. Not the Michel Legrand like harmonics on the lyrics :
You used to find me crying in my bed
Now you remind me tommorow she'll be here.
This is a New cycle beginning that's why there is a specific change of harmonics and chords. From minor to Major !
    ( on the seventh Chord).
Even though Joni Mitchell would say and I quote:
"I don't understand why Europeans and South Americans can take more sophistication. Why is it that Americans need to hear their tragedy minor, and as jazzy as they can handle is a seventh chord ? Are they not experiencing complex emotions " Joni would also be right ! Anyway, AMAZING Artistry Thanks Guys...

Or course what I wanted to way in the first part of the comment: NOTE the Michel Legrand like harmonics...

Yes, it is indeed lonely in here, considering (*yawn*) this hour of the morning...  Manilow shows his true colours in this all-jazz effort, and justifiably so because jazz was originally his musical upbringing.  I also have reason to surmise this is Manilow's first and only all digital recording.  My only complaint is that the instrumental coda ("Paradise Café") fades out...
