Barry Manilow - Leavin' In The Morning Lyrics

I tried to tell you there's trouble on the way
I lost the feling that I once had
But when I held you there was nothing I could say
I couldn't bare to see you hurt so bad

So I'll be leaving in the morning
Wishing that I could stay
And though I'll miss you every morning
It's the only way
So I'll be leaving in the morning
But how can I tell you why
I never gave you any warning
And now I don't know how to say goodbye

I tried to tell you there was something that I miss
Something I couldn't dare to find with you
But I was blinded by your love every time we kissed
Afraid I never find a love so true

So I'll be leaving in the morning
But how can I tell you why
I never gave you any warning
And now I don't know how to say goodbye

I waited too long but now I see
It's no good for you, it's no good for me
You can't see it now
But one day you'll know I just had to go
Oh, oh, oh, oh

So I'll be leaving in the morning
Wishing that I could stay
And though I'll miss you every morning
It's the only way
So I'll be leaving in the morning
But how can I tell you why
I never gave you any warning

Barry Manilow Leavin' In The Morning Comments

1978: With all the hits this LP generated, this Manilow/Marty Panzer gem got lost along the way. Sometimes you just know, although I never dumped anyone.

My mom introduced me to Barry Manilow's music in her love for it, which I didn't share for some years. Then it clicked when I was in ninth grade (1980-81) and then I played it so much that she was tired of it to the day of her death. "Even Now" has always been one of my most favorite of his albums. Thanks so much for sharing this!!
