Barry Manilow - I Am Your Child Lyrics
I am your child.
Wherever you go, you take me, too.
Whatever I know, I learn from you.
Whatever I do, you taught me to do.
I am your child.
Whatever will come, will come from me.
Tomorrow is won, by winning me.
Whatever I am, you taught me to be.
I am your hope,
I am your chance,
I am your child.
Whatever I am, you taught me to be.
I am your hope,
I am your child.

Barry Manilow I Am Your Child Comments
This song was on the back of a 45 that I bought when I was about 11 years old and I fell in love with it. I remember playing it and my mom loved it too which is a wonderful memory now that she is 85 and I am 57. :o)
Waaaaay back when this album first came out ('73?), I fell in love with this song. I had the lyrics done in calligraphy by hand and framed for my mom. It went from her home to her place in assisted living, until her death in 2004. It now has a place of honor on a wall in my home. Every time I pass it, I smile.
And what a beautiful testament to your mom and to you... <3
This is indeed a beautiful song. I dedicate it to all of the children that were abused, forgotten, wilfully discarded by the parent.
I apologize for your days of tears, of fear, of hunger, for being left alone. I too know all too well the feeling of being thrown away by a parent who was supposed to love and care and nurture you to be a positive force in life. God is our only parent and in his hands we will always be safe and we will thrive in life. No worries. We all are going to be just fine. Blessings upon you.
Anyone else here because of “Murphy Brown”? 👶
I SING THIS TO MY SON !!!
Hope he gets into barry too like i did
One of my all time favorite songs. I lost my mom when I was 10 years old and this song always seemed like a way to honor her. I even did a paper in college based on the lyrics
