I’m almost 22 years old and have never given a crap about dating. I think a lot of the girls in the comments are very influenced by the world’s culture without even knowing it. I’m a guy by the way.

I think a lot of these people in the comments are trusting themselves to find the right person rather than trusting God.

I listened to this song a lot when I was in high school especially after I broke up with my ex. I finally said okay God it’s in your hands I’m tired of looking bring him to me. I graduated from high school and God help me I was getting impatient. It wasn’t until a small group kickoff at church that I met my boyfriend over a box of tissues. We became friends when he joined the small group my parents were in. That was in 2015. In May of 2016 he asked me out and it’s now been a year and 7 months. I know for a fact that God sent him to me because he met every single thing on my godly man list and that could’ve only been an act of God. ❤️❤️❤️

When I heard this song I nearly screamed. I've always told my sisters that dating never went right because it wasn't apart of God's plan. Yes we were but he also gave us free will to make our own choices. We can either choose to listen to him or not. She has made her choice like I have. I understand why you gave up religion with the mega churches and tragedies. Religion is man made but faith is God made. I have faith in my God that he has a good plan for me and my own life experiences have shown me that his way is always the best way to follow. I don’t think there is anything wrong with waiting irregardless of our faith. I know couples together who regret not waiting for the right partner I don’t want to be one of them.

He helped me get through the hardest time in my life I was facing by myself. He is my strength and will carry me when I can't walk. I totally respect their philosophy on dating.  And I don't want to give the impression that I'm critcitising  the song or anything, but I feel like the Barlowgirls have this idea in their heads that their 'husband' will just show up outside their house one day and it'll all be perfect.  Sometimes the ideas we have in our heads about how life should be isn't what God has in store for us.  I mean, hey maybe His plan for the Barlowgirls really is that he drops their 'prince charmings' into their back gardens or whatever. But then again, maybe it isn't.  Life can be a lot more complicated than this song - even for Christian girls who wait.

I am getting married now to a wonderful man and my having had sex before does not hurt us now. It just feels like misinformation and fear mongering. Manipulative form of control

I randomly remembered this song that used to be my "anthem" in my 20s and now I'm 35 and thinking why the hell did I wait around for some dude to just show up lol. I wasted alot of years having a fairytale reality. You have to date to see what type of person you're compatible with. I do believe in God and that he has a plan for my life though so I just have to keep the faith that I'll meet my man one day. But I gotta do my part. I think you’re all missing the point of the song. They wrote this on their VERY FIRST album and they were much younger then. At that time in life, the most important thing isn’t guys. I think what they’re getting at, is not to go around being obsessed with guys and dating when one day you can meet the right person without even trying a whole lot. You still have to try somewhat, but not by going on dates right away. You can get to know people of the opposite sex pretty well, before you start dating.

All I can say is wow!

This is a great song and I LOVE it but the line "No more dating" I disagree with merely because I see dating as hanging out 1x1 and getting to know the other person. Other people might see dating as differant and agree with the line but to each your own, right?
