Band, The - Where Do We Go From Here? Lyrics
Did you hear about the eagle of distinction
The one that came on every Friday afternoon
Well, it seems that eagle has near flown into extinction
Descending to the sand
His biggest enemy being man
Where do we go from here? I asked my woman
Where do we go from here? Oh woman, my woman
La la la la la la la la la, she said, nowhere
Did you hear about the railroad going under
How it seems its days are numbered on the board
Well, I feel sad about the railroad and it's no wonder
It'd run right by my door
I can't hear it anymore
Where do we go from here? Is there no way of knowing
Where do we go from here? Oh, I need to be shown
La la la la la la la la la, they said, somewhere
Have you heard about the buffalo on the plain
And how at one time they'd stampede a thousand strong
Now that buffalo's at the zoo standing in the rain
Just one more victim of fate
Like California state
You sure do miss the silence when it's gone
Where do we go from here? I hear from no one
Where do we go from here? Could you tell me, someone
La la la la la la la la la, I'd go anywhere

Band, The Where Do We Go From Here? Comments
It used to run right by my door, I can't hear it anymore. How can you get to sleep when the whistle don't blow?
This is Rick denko on this one? He sounds so great.
This album is so strong .. And at the time not as well received ... Idk I don't understand how forgotten so much of their work is
A soulful gem. The performance immensely authentic and guileless. I miss this Band so bad.
me too forever
they were the best of any band there ever was and ever will be
I booked Rick and a band he put together after the Band broke up. He was the nicest person I ever met! Took me out to lunch and told me stories about Dylan. He was definitely special.
Rick was a sweet guy, died too soon
She just said he was a nice guy..you're evidently not.
Maria Morgan Was that the autism benefit show in NYC (1994)?
Everybody just ignore NIcole. She's just a jealous troll trying to get attention.
That's great, Maria! I'd have enjoyed meeting Rick, as a great fan of The Band since 1968... What a singer/bass player he was! I've read nothing but good things about his spirit and personality...
A great one you don't hear often enough Rick is great on this and Garth is killin..listen to Levon's drumming..
atta boy Ricky.
This 1 of my favorite songs from my favorite album by The Band! Thanks for the upload!
I know I love this album
I remember the night I 1st heard this album (& Cahoots is an Album - a collection of songs chosen and ordered by the artist, to be listened to in the order they put it together). One of my buddies got a copy - it had just come out - we were already big The Band fans, I even wore out an 8 track copy of The Band and had an album of it. It was timely then, and it is just as timely now...

Excellent
so good
How can you get to sleep when the whistle don't moan?
stuck in my head all morning
all day
all their music sticks in my mind all the time
Long time ago when my ex-wife was still just a girl-friend i I was playing this song (for no reason at all) and she got all pissed off at me thinking I was sending her some kind of message... I should have seen that as the omen it was and sent her packing the next day, could have saved myself 8 more years of grief.
she was a female in distress
the dom fem.... yer spirit was warning you
Yeah, that's the kinda shit that speaks loud and clear lookin back, ain't it?\
One of Rick Danko's finest moments.
An underrated song from an underrated album . .
