Band Of Skulls - Hometowns Lyrics
In hometowns, suburban and transient
Romances, just like yours, are bound again,
To all you lovers, gather around you,
To see what you have become
It's just kids having, more kids for
Fear of being alone
To all you lovers, gather around you,
To see what you have become
I was looking for the one
But I guess you'll do
No acting, while you're here, a lonely road
It's just kids having, more kids for
To all you lovers, gather around you,
To see what you have become
I was looking for the one
But I guess you'll do
In hometowns, suburban and transient
Romances, just like yours happen again.

guitar sounds like Back down south by Kings of leon
I see other people referencing Pink Floyd and Radiohead (post-chorus/bridge) and it took me a while to put my finger on where i've heard this before... It's Alice Cooper's 'Only Women Bleed' with a Radiohead-esque Chorus. Still nice though.
"You lock the door, and throw away the key. There's someone in my head, but it's not me." I heard Floyd instantly here. No music is entirely 'original'. That's an arguably unattainable goal this far into the game, at least if you want to make something that's appealing. Band Of Skulls is on the favorable side of the divide between 'artists' in a virtual ocean of musicians who are making noise as opposed to those few whose music is a welcome island.
Haunting is a wonderful description. Their harmonies are epic.
I hear Pink Floyd in a different dimension or something. Anyone else?
Part of the melody sounds a bit like 'The Dark Side Of The Moon..' This band is an exception to the general rule of thumb that much modern music is awful. Even among indie stuff of the last decade you do have to search through the sheer volume of music that can now be made without major label auspices, but in a case like this, you'll have certainly found 'the good stuff'.
Don't like it when people do this so I apologize... But check out my recording of this song!
i love when they harmonize. so haunting!
I've been playing guitar for 6 years now. I've never been good at transcribing...
That doesn't even gramatically make sense...
how long do you play guitar?
I would really like to learn this song, but I can't figure it out, even in slow motion. Does anyone have a tab or can anyone make one? Thanks so much in advance
very radioheadish
My fave off the new album :)
This song is simply amazing. As is the rest of this album. I'm addicted.
