Bad Religion - Atheist Peace Lyrics

Maybe it’s too late for an intellectual debate,
but a residue of confusion remains.

Changing with the times,
and developmentally tortured minds
are the average citizen's sources of pain.

Tell me what we’re fighting for—
I don’t remember anymore,
only temporary reprieve

And the world might cease
if we fail to tame the beast
from the faith that you release
comes an atheist peace.

Atheist peace.

Political forces rent
bitter cold winds of discontent
and the modern age emerged triumphantly.
But now it seems we've stalled
And it’s time to de-evolve
and relive the dark chapters of history

Tell me what we’re fighting for—
No progress ever came from war,
only a false sense of increase

and the world won’t wait
for the truth upon a plate
but we’re ready now to feast on an atheist peace.

Atheist peace

Bad Religion Atheist Peace Comments
  1. F.... Z....

“You don't need religion to have morals. If you can't determine right from wrong, you lack empathy, not religion.”

I told my religious friend once. He didn’t like what I said. So he stopped hanging out with me.

  2. B.... F....

Why did the Empire Strike Frist? What did Frist ever do?

  3. A.... R....

I was raised mormon, I hated it. I love this

    Atheist peace😎

  5. T.... ....

If the god of the bible had been portrayed as a king instead of a God , he would be remembered as the most evil, mass murdering, tyrannical dictator of all time! Christians give the bible god a free pass because, they say, he is god the creator. I don't see the difference whether man or god. If his actions were evil or immoral, as the bible states, then he'd be just as guilty of being evil as any human committing the same deeds.

Last time I checked the amount of comments were 666... You fuckers...

  12. D.... S....

    glad i'm christian hunter

  13. C.... B....

This thread needs one more comment to hit 666. So here we go.

  14. G.... ....

Bad Religions aren't exactly against the individual follower but against the corruption of the religion they follow.

  15. D.... R....

    good 'ol cuntsound

  16. K.... O....

holy fuck a 45 unskipable ad shhiiiittttt

  17. T.... S....

I guess I should have seen religious arguments coming but damn this comment section is golden

  18. L.... ....

Fun fact: when I started to listen to punk music this one was the first song I listened to. I found it on a website about atheism (I was in a very atheist period of my life)

  19. E.... D....

    999 likes +1=1000 this me

  20. T.... O....

I have found the atheist anthem.

    T.... O....

I would be fine with that

  21. S.... ....

the first bit I'm sure he say "tell me what we pray for" not fight for ...that comes later on.

  22. S.... ....

It would be cool if they change atheist for christian peace.

    S.... ....

Except for the fact that Christianity and Peace are about as opposite as it gets. Seriously, maybe examine your religion for a while, and it's long and storied history of atrocity and brutality, then get back to me on the whole peace thing. And if you think it's all in the past, please do keep in mind that a lot of hate still circulates to this very day in the name of your religion.

    S.... ....

meowsthi HA! Really? God is God! The biggest murderes in all history were atheists. The brutality that you say is because God punished the sinners in the Old Testament? He can do whatever He wants. God loves all of us but he must do justice

    S.... ....

@PR Smasher Seriously? The biggest murderers in history were Atheists. Care to provide a little evidence for that? Care to let me know who stacks up against the Catholic Church for over all lives taken?

Care to explain how anyone comes close to matching the number of lives lost when a loving god flooded the planet and killed all but a few humans?

    S.... ....

PR Smasher religion and peace are two very opposite things
and if you would have read the bible you would understand why atheist hate it

    P.S its full of hate

    S.... ....

@Armin Plays While what you are saying is true, don't make the mistake of thinking all religions are the same.

  23. S.... ....

I'm Christian, is really cool this song and awesome!

  24. m.... ....

You know, as much as I love me some Bad Religion, some of their listeners are as fucking blind as the religious dipshits they pretend to be so different from. Get the fuck over yourselves, you are not special. You've jumped on the counter culture band wagon, and nothing more.

  25. J.... S....

    All thinking humans are atheist.

    J.... S....

@MayManZ IZBoZZ Fuck you, I am not a touch screen! You're a touch screen!

    J.... S....

    James Smith yeah

    J.... S....

    meowsthi i agree

    J.... S....

meowsthi I'm an Atheist myself but i hate comments like these, they're retarded

    J.... S....

All thinking person are smartest, we atheist decide don't believe in God for one reason there is not evidence that God exist but like Bill Nye said if we have evidence that God is real, we would changed our mind no doubt about that ,but we are still waiting and nobody can prove that God exist, without evidence there isn't truth, but I tell you one thing all humans are agnostic, those that say "Oh, I'm not agnostic", fuck you, you're lying, did you forget what your God said? "You shall not lie" nice way to show that you believe in God, but it's okay the 10 commands are in the old testament, that people say it doesn't count, for the book of truth there is a big session of lies, like for most of the book.

  26. T.... ....

my favorite self-oxymoron is being a christian and loving Bad Religion.

    T.... ....

    Come to the dark side!!

    T.... ....

TheKreativeKinz I'm an atheist and like many songs that talk about god in a good way lol

  27. S.... ....

lmfao at this Grizz Frank guy down in the comments trying to convert people to believe in god and a flat earth on a "bad religion" video.

  28. F.... L....

So many fedora tippers, when will they learn? Religion is not a total sham, atheism/secularism is only ever going to work among intellectuals(people with some degree of higher intelligence and self control) Its better to have a population united under one ideology, rather than have many divided factions competing for political power to push their agenda. The only way atheism/secularism will work is if people agree to the same moral code so people don't use their self imposed moral standards to try and start some social revolution, in other words atheists and 3rd wave feminists are pretty much the same other than some technical bullshit. Checkmate.

    F.... L....

+Food Loaf Furthermore, does it matter if a handful of religious people take their beliefs literally? It really is not all of them that think that dinosaurs and humans coexisted more like 5% It's the people that use religion as an excuse(for terrorism/crime(Islam)) that are the real problem.

    F.... L....

More wise words from Food Loaf xD

    F.... L....

Don't even compare atheists in 3rd wave feminists, that is a fucking insult, I never repeat never see an atheist try to convert someone to atheism, there are some atheist like that but is a small number in 3rd wave feminism is almost all of them, that why we call it 3rd wave, the 2nd and 1st wave I'm okay with them those fight for equality, the 3rd have don't, ,but atheist is like "Believe in what you want, just don't ask me to do the same" and that is all, if you believe in God fine, if you don't believe in God fine as well, either way you are still human what you believe doesn't matter to us what you do and say is a little different, but this is a free world (in most places at least) so just because we disagree that will not shut you up, we deal with it.

    F.... L....

You prefer being enslaved under a single ideology to being free. Good for you.

  29. S.... L....

religion is such a joke. anyone who falls for it is special. it's the child mentality of just believing everything you are told with out question smh

    S.... L....

    Not all of religion Sarah.

    S.... L....

Bee Bee do you need a dictionary? or rehab? I made a comment about a song. how is that posing haha. I listen to all kinds of music like most people doesn't mean I live it. but I am an atheist so no posing required you special child

    S.... L....

LotsaJello Stop calling people sheep. That's ignorance at it's finest. How can you prove anything really? All of our sciences are based on "close enough." Stop trying to act tough.

    S.... L....

    Lol atheists are so funny

    S.... L....

Toast Same. I’m disabled and an atheist. I became one in my teens.

  30. P.... M....

For those who think science is everything and religion is dumb...well to believe in science actually takes as much faith as to believe in, for example, Virgin Mary. Have you ever seen an atom? Could have you, by using logic, assumed that atoms are made of protons, neutron, and electrons? No, you believe in them like I believe in Jesus. Of course, science has a million of experiments to prove points, but religion has had some researches that proves it true as well.
I think that what Bad Religion is trying to tell us is that we should not choose between science and religion or ignore one or the other. We should use religion as a set of moral values to help us guide the progress of science in the best direction possible :)
Just my opinion. If you disagree, please be respectful and avoid creating violence.

    P.... M....

Religion as a set of moral values. The moral god drowns all the earth except for 8 people and we get maybe 2 sentences in Genesis to explain why he did it. Now that's moral.

    P.... M....

I agree with every word, Rico. There is no proof that the Bible is actually true.

    P.... M....

i dont like the term religion religions are business that take advantage of peoples faith faith is something more simple its believing in my case that jesus died for us :v

    P.... M....

Paulina Meyer ,The difference one can be demonstrated to exist, the other one you say exists. One requires faith the other reason

  34. D.... J....

Ok so like I'm atheist butttttt I would side with a Christian over a Muslim so yea fuck allah

    D.... J....

    +michael dasilva why?

    D.... J....

Dude, what a stupid fucking comment.

    D.... J....

You know, now that you've changed your name to Donald Trump, the stupid shit you said makes a lot more sense. It doesn't make sense in the "oh, well that must be correct" sort of way, but in the "oooooh, you're fucking retarded so that why you say that" sort of way. Fucking dumb ass trolls, man. So terrible at their job. They think a reply means they win, but they only think this because they can not make valid points.

  35. B.... M....

Atheism is what the world needs, all religions are the belief in fiction as fact and we can only move one when we let that go.

    B.... M....

Dubito, Ergo Cogito, Ergo Sum. As I said, I respect Descartes, but I do not subscribe to all of his philosophies. Descartes said that to find the truth he had to upend everything, and analyze each "Fact" with unbiased eyes. Then he came to the conclusion that the only evidence for his existence was that he had the ability to doubt his existence, which proved that he was able to think, and his thoughts proved his own existence. I don't subscribe to this, and am not convinced of my own existence.

Truth, in this aspect, is ephemeral. There is a line of philosophical thinking that will overturn any argument attempting to prove that anything exists. This is why I said that I can not tell you the Truth. Because there is only 1. And only you are able to find it. No one can lead you there. No one can show you the way.

"I don't believe you have the answer. I've got ideas too."

Your second post was more correct than your first, but I posit this simple fact. Personal truth is not universal, and thus it is not Truth.

    B.... M....

And to quote a great rapper.. "Universal Truth is not measured by Mass Appeal".

    B.... M....

Happiness berift of sorrow is nothing more than delusion. You would need to cut your own heart out and turn a blind eye to the suffering of the world.

That or you would have to ascribe to the notion that your way is the best way, and force others to believe as you. If you remove people's freedom, even if you are teaching them happiness, than you remove the element of free will, and nothing you do from that point on matters.

It occurs to me that you're still a fucking moron if you want to agree with a shit head terrorist that's willing to take lives to push his own agenda. This also ties into the fact that you still have not done any research on what Karma is. Seriously, unless you're a Hindu, or a Buddhist, you shouldn't be talking Karma.

I am sorry if you find that technology is hampering YOUR happiness, but you are not the world. You are not even .01% of the world. You are not even .000001% of the world, so perhaps you should take a moment to realize how completely meaningless your thoughts on enlightenment, your personal path to happiness, and your apparent acceptance of violence to push a cause is. You are nothing.

Your morality, your ethos, and your dogma are all your own. They are no one elses, and to push them on others is as damaging to this world as you view technology to be. Stop being so self important.

Don't tell me about the answer, because then another one will come along soon. I don't believe you have the answers. I've got ideas too.

    B.... M....

@***** I'm waiting, you wannabe transcendent, but ultimately meaningless waste of carbon.

I thought Ubermensch and his magical mind herbs could process and reply faster than this. And don't give me some shit about not caring, even if you don't reply, I've already won. And I didn't even need any herbs. ;)

    B.... M....

Some are other not so much, like Buddhism is like other religions all or most of the religion have a God in some way a being that is all power and create the world and stuff like that, but Budha wasn't that like ever, actually is real name wasn't Budha either, but he born grown and die like every human, but he reached Nirvana that is peace of state and mind, accomplished this is hard special in nowadays I would call it impossible. So Buddha wasn't God or anything od the source, people that say he was, show that they don't know anything about religion beside their own religion.

  36. a.... o....

Is the title a reference to pax christiana?

  37. t.... ....

Imagine a world with atheist peace! :)

    t.... ....

It would be a disgrace trust me. The world would end up dead.

    t.... ....

telenofunken I have good friends who are religious, but there are “those people” that I can definitely live without.

    t.... ....

@SmashBros7 No it wouldnt you bellend

  38. e.... c....

I'm a full on Christian and i love punk rock and bad religion is my favorite punk rock band , and while I have complete faith in my God these songs are a pretty good depiction of modern day religion.

    e.... c....

@Grizz Frank dude you seriously need help lol. you're in denial. You do realize if you told a psychologist you believe these things, you would be put under evaluation, right?

    e.... c....

    +Smw44200 wp, wp

    e.... c....

I hope you are cured from your affliction now.

    e.... c....

I don't see any reason why Bad Religion shouldn't be your favorite punk band. It's very healthy to hear the arguments against one's own world view. It can either change your mind or make you more convinced you are right. Either way, you grow as a person. I'm an atheist but I do not see any reason why we can't have civil debates and conversations about this topic or any other. You seem like a good person, and that's what truly matters to me.

    e.... c....

    ernesto carmona that's great

  39. P.... R....

Love love this band like other great punk rock bands NOFX propaghandi Goldfinger excetra. point out the flaws in this disease called religion that runs rampid in ower society. an atheist peace is such a great way of putting it

    P.... R....

@Patrick Kelly It's actually just anti-establishment, not atheist. Greg Graffin himself is only a naturalist (which you could say amounts to being atheist) but they're more into anti-conformity. What they thrust in our face in the form of titles actually hide anti-conformist messages. Why, Jay Bentley has spiritual beliefs and Brett Gurewitz is a provisional deist. I HOPE you got the joke.

    P.... R....

Conformity and Religion tend to go hand-in-hand

  40. D.... D....

@Scotty Rors How can anyone know for sure if God exists or not. I don't see any logic in "gnostic" point of view.

    D.... D....

@Adam Krutyna Nor I. I prefer the agnostic atheist stance until proof is presented.

    D.... D....

@jb111082 Well, I prefer the agnostic theist, cos I've got hope, sometimes refered as "faith". But, yeah, we both can't be sure.

    D.... D....

@Adam Krutyna I don't think that hope is mutually exclusive to a belief in a god. However you are correct in that neither of us can be sure.

  41. J.... S....

    I find comfort in science.....

    J.... S....

@DOWNWITHHACKERS2015 it already has, electricity, water purification, proper sewer systems...

    J.... S....

@blazingfuryoffire1 electricity, would have been free. and it as the first thing used for death row in mates. water purification is more of a waste as instead of a smaller system a city relays on one or two most of the water is wasted and put back through the cycle when really it could be sent to a much smaller system to redistribute if they were to do that people would find we would be wasting less water. not to add it doesnt always help a few highly deadly bacteria have been found in filtered water. and f its so good then why is it not all over in africa to help them? africa is not good enough for cleaner water? sewage has its problems and most dump into swamps or the ocean at some point to be honest when it comes to that we have changed little compared to the Romans. next.

    J.... S....

@DOWNWITHHACKERS2015 again, the issue is with who uses inventions. As for the wasted water, the system isn't perfect, but it's still better than drinking out of a creek. as for in Africa, I don't know enough of their economic capacity.

    J.... S....

@DOWNWITHHACKERS2015 a lot of  what you mentioned is actually illegal. As for killing people, if you have two people with nothing but a rock, chances are, one will kill the other, science doe not really change this either way.
As for the good science has done, Earthquake-resistant structures are common near fault lines and reduces the damage done by natural disasters, we can predict when a volcano is about to blow, or when a tornado is likely to touch down. People have used science for personal gain, yes, but we also take for granted the benefits of science, like warnings of natural disasters, immediate communication (would have saved some lives at the end of the war of 1812 if we had reached this point of communication technology back then) diverse markets where we can get things from other countries easily, guns protect us from wild animals (other than other humans), I can go on. Religion has caused a few wars in the past and has done little to truly advance society.
People will always try to kill each other and attempt to justify it any way they can and people will try to control others. Nothing can change human nature.

    J.... S....

Of Course science will not always be right (mistakes are made, theories disprove), and we can't know everything, but isn't that what's exciting about it? Not knowing everything keeps us curious. If we thought we knew everything, life would be a bore.

Not to mention, that perfect world you're asking for isn't possible through religion or science. In a perfect world, without disease, pain, and sadness, there would be no fun. Take the "The Tale of the Princess Kaguya" (it's a studio Ghibli movie). In the movie, the princess Kaguya is taken from her life in the country to become a noble woman. She had fun in the countryside, though she was often hungry, and not well-dressed. But there in the city, she felt no happiness. Where she had all the clothes she could ever want, and great status, but without happiness it was nothing. It may seem like a worthless life but through her suffering she learned how amazing and short life is. When her life was about to end, she realized she didn't want to leave. But the "they" took her back to the "heaven" that she came from. But it was no heaven. They made her forget her life on Earth, and leave without emotion. Everything was gone.

Heaven is so often shown as a place without pain and suffering, without stress, or desire. This may seem good at first, but it is actually the opposite. The joy I feel here are Earth trumps over what "Heaven" could ever offer me. I would rather be down, and angry some days than be without emotion, because you need those negative emotions in order to know when you're happy. You need an imperfect life to appreciate the things within it. A life without pain, and illness wouldn't be life at all.

Science may not be able to create "everything" you desire, but one step at a time, we can improve the quality of life. Moving too fast may lead us towards the destruction of ourselves and none of us want that.

  42. s.... ....

It is better to talk through your problems, rather than ignore them. I would think someone impersonating The King would know this.

  43. N.... ....

You are agreeing with me with a negative attitude. Interesting, man. Fucking interesting.

  44. c.... y....

ugh that argument is worse than being agnostic. of course we cant prove anything to be 1trillion percent fact... we dont need to. how the hell do people like you walk across the street without fear of falling through the ground into another dimension. go with what we "know". its a relative term. we know alot about gravity. we manipulate it well. can we explain everything? no. and hopefully we never can. quit looking for problems where they don't exist.

  45. c.... y....

science is usually wrong? bit of a stretch maybe? you typed that over a computer... does that just work by random chance? did we just trip and all the circuits just lined up perfectly and youtube was already set up? these things are only possible because we understand how these things work. not entirely.... but we sure seem to manipulate the laws of sience well enough with our understanding of it. its not absolute but mostly wrong? bring me the 51% of incorrect science and ill go back to mybible

  46. c.... y....

    lets play burn the alchemist.

  47. d.... ....

Turns out, there is a way to turn lead into gold. The catch? It costs more to turn lead into gold than gold is worth. Who'da thunk it.

  48. N.... ....

"Science cannot be wrong, it can only be improved." 100% incorrect
    .
Science is usually wrong in it's hypothesis, and can not be improved upon. The scientific method is about as good as it gets when it comes to testing theory. I am sure by now you think I hate science, but that's completely untrue. I just dislike the thousands of people running around pointing at science as though it was some infallible machine that spat out golden answers of truth 24/7. Science is a tool for exploration.

    N.... ....

Nope you know you can be an Atheist and not have an interest in science whatsoever right?

  49. N.... ....

The truth, as most actual scientists would tell you, is that science knows very little, and makes guesses at everything else. This is why science is so full of "Theory" and so vacant on actual immutable facts. To bring back his awesomeness, Newton, his most famous moment was the apple striking him on the head. Tell me what Sciences -Knows- about gravity right now, over 100 years later. We're entering a time when we're exploring infinite possibility in our universe, and you claim to know truth?

  50. N.... ....

Of course it can be compared to religious beliefs. You do realize that -you- have done zero of this experimentation and are just taking what you read in books as 100% truth, right? You don't see a comparison? Both claim to know the inner workings of the entire universe with 100% accuracy. This is actually not quite true, as most real scientists make no such claims. Science is correct maybe 1% of the time, and that's being extremely generous with the numbers.

  51. M.... D....

Do you know why we still use newton's natural laws of physics as truth and not his beliefs on alchemy? Because alchemy doesn't have evidence and his natural laws do. That's what science does, it disregards the hypotheses without evidence and accept and improve the ones that have evidence. That's why science is not based on faith unlike religion which has no evidence at all.

  52. M.... D....

Ptolemy, Pythagoras and Newton all used evidence and reasoned logic to establish their theories regarding these things. You're right it's not just the modern age that has the ability to place tools to reason. The tools of reason also known as physical evidence and reasoned logic is what cures cancer, allows planes to fly, ect. Yet no such evidence or logic can be applied to religion.

Science cannot be wrong, it can only be improved.

  53. M.... D....

I never implied that modern science is the only time in history that's right. But the fact remains that the scientific method is based on PHYSICAL EVIDENCE that we can actually observe, test and experiment. The scientific method is something that has worked since early philosophy and cannot be compared to religious beliefs.

  54. N.... ....

Ptolemy had math, Pythagoras had Geometry, to think that only in the modern age did humanity have the ability to place tools to reason is just as moronic as the thought that somehow we're the lucky generation that has everything figured out. Do keep in mind that the same person who gave us our current understanding of the natural laws of physics was also an alchemist, and thought he could find a way to turn lead into gold. The only truth, is that there is no truth. There's only questions.

  55. s.... g....

if you look at those times we thought we were right, we didn't have any evidence to back up our claims. Now we have evidence and testable theories, something we did not have back then. The heliocentric theory of the sun, germ theory of disease, evolution. Things that we have evidence for and can easily test and verify. The falsifiability which separates these theories was not present in their earlier counterparts.

  56. N.... ....

    Good question. Ask Shrodinger.

  57. N.... ....

The only difference between modern science and Ptolemaic reasoning is a thousand years. Over and over all through out history humanity has found answers and over and over they've been WRONG. It really takes a special sort of arrogant fuckhead to think that right now, in this era, is the only time through out all of history that we've been right. Truth is, in a thousand years, we're all going to look as stupid as Ptolemy. Also, dumbass, I'm Agnostic, not Christian. Stop being assumptive.

    N.... ....

i don't think we will look as dumb as ptolemy b/c modern science is based on pure logic and evidence, while ptolemy just made up random explanations that sounded cool.

  58. M.... D....

There is a huge difference between a book made by iron age peasants and books made by highly credible people who have spend their entire life dedicated towards their expertise on a subject that we ourselves can peer-review and study ourselves.

Do not compare physical evidence and reasoned logic to your failed unfalsifiable hypothesis.

  59. B.... M....

The really question is, is there any proof that there is a 3-headed unicorn flying around?

  60. J.... B....

....I don't really get that one.

  61. J.... A....

    God, i chuckled

  62. P.... ....

    lol Fedora-core

  63. A.... G....

    Well, you're also dead.

  64. A.... G....

Well, I assume he's talking about the christians who preach on the videos, not your kind of tolerant christian.

  65. u.... ....

    shut up. who cares

  66. H.... ....

Actually the phrase "In God We Trust" was adopted as the motto of the U.S. in 1956. 180 years after America was founded in 1776. It appeared on paper money in 1957.

  67. R.... J....

    * if so

  68. R.... J....

You know how people ( mostly atheists ) say that America wasnt founded on the Christian religion? You wanna know how to find out if it's true? Of so LOOK ON THE BACK OF ANY U.S. PAPER MONEY OR COINS! IT SAYS IN GOD WE TRUST! GOD! TRY TO GET PAST THAT!

  69. M.... W....

No generalization here, just facts.Religion is pushier than atheism.

  70. N.... ....

I would hate to end this on a civil note. Stop being so fucking stupid.

  71. D.... ....

I'm not saying your logic is flawed, I respect it, but I find it hard to agree with. I should say this discussion is over, it was good while it lasted.

  72. N.... ....

On the same note, if Ptolemy showed you hard mathmatical evidence that the earth goes around the sun(as he did long ago) would you suddenly revert to back to a geocentric view of the universe? Even when you think you have someone else giving you proof, you're pretty often wrong. My simple advice is to just question everything unless you've come to the conclusions yourself.

  73. N.... ....

Nope, and I'm not gonna say you're wrong. I have no way of knowing for sure. I could assume their were no Unicorns flying around your city(as Unicorns rarely fly, that's a Pegasus), but the only way I could be 100% certain is to go see for myself. Funny how Knowing something and Assuming something are similar and yet strikingly different.

  74. D.... ....

See? It's not that hard. Now let's try this; Dude, there is a 3-headed Unicorn flying around my city, do you have proof that disproves it?

  75. N.... ....

    Spoken like a true Christian.

  76. D.... ....

Why do I need to get proof? It's not necessary if people will believe me anyways.

  77. N.... ....

Bingo. Now go get you some proof, or stop acting like you've got some sort of answer.

  78. D.... ....

    Faithful people?

  79. N.... ....

You know what they call people who believe something is true when they have no proof?

  80. D.... ....

Why? ONE crazy motherfucker said God existed without proof, now >95% of earth's population believe in a God. I don't need evidence if there is ignorant people who will believe anything dumb someone says.

  81. N.... ....

Allow me to paint some common ground for you faithful dipshits. Christians go into a building read a book, and trust other people have done the work for them, being prophets or saints or whatever. Atheists go into buildings and read books, and trust in the other people who have "done the experiments" for them. Both get their information from books, and both claim that their book is true and can not be questioned. Get it? You people are two sides of the same fucking coin.

  82. N.... ....

I don't give a shit what the "Status Quo" is. If you wish to claim to KNOW something, you need some actual, factual evidence. Without it, you are only clinging to theory. When sufficient evidence comes along to support the claim that "there is no god" I'll be willing to stop lumping Atheists in with the rest of the "faithful". For now you are either Agnostic, or you are assuming.

  83. s.... g....

The status quo is that there is no god, the idea of god came after modern man evolved. As it is a new idea, the person who started it is responsible for proving it. Just like when the idea of evolution came around, it wasn't our job to disprove it, it was the job of the theorist to prove it. Thus far, there has been no proof, at all. When sufficient evidence to suggest that god exists comes along, it will then be our job to refute that evidence. So far no evidence of the like exists

  84. N.... ....

And yes, if you wish to claim a Teapot is not revolving around the sun, you better be prepared to offer up actual evidence to prove your point. Better not to make claims from a stance of speculation, assumption, and ignorance.

  85. N.... ....

Fact is the burden of proof belongs to anyone who wishes to claim they know a fact. If you think that God is not real, you need evidence to prove it. Same goes for those who think that God is real. Atheists are not free from the burden of proof.

  86. D.... ....

Actually the old testament never talks about homosexuality as a sexual orientation.

  87. D.... ....

The fact is that the burden of proof lies on theists, since they are the ones who claim the existence of God.
I can say that a magical teapot is revolving around the sun, along with the other planets. I believe this is true and support this with the argument that "You can't prove a (magical teapot....) doesn't exist. Therefore, it exists. (Russel's teapot)

  88. D.... ....

just cause we cant see it doesn't mean its not there no prove is not prove

  89. e.... ....

Maybe they should listen to "God's Love"

  90. J.... N....

Does a true punk tell women not to work, not to work on Sunday, and dislikes homosexuals and drunks? NO! Jesus did though, he is an oppressing asshole, just read the old testament.

  91. M.... ....

    Interesting stance indeed.
Personally I don't believe religion itself to be bad (however it does provide the root for all the bad things coming from institutionalized religion) but rather irrelevant and useless. Thus I don't hate the average Christian or moslem or Hindu, but I do think critically of radicals of any religion

  92. a.... ....

As a Bad Religion fan and a Christian I don’t feel the slightest bit hypocritical. I believe, 100% that it was Religion who put my God on the Cross and crucified him. For that I believe Religion is "Bad" and Jesus was a true rebel against authority and for that he was persecuted and destroyed in the flesh. I also believe that Man has taken Spiritual things and abused them, molding them into Religion to push their own agendas that is why Christianity gets a bad name R-U-MakingAtheismAReligion?

  93. E.... D....

    Prove it.

  94. S.... ....

it's natural they come and argue and it's tehir right. Atheist go to christian videos and internet is a playfield.
Anyway I always find them christians truly ignorant and inconsistent.

  95. S.... ....

God should be called Theory of God, not Existence of God. Perhaps exists, perhaps not. But until is proven, it does not and it's just a theory.

  96. l.... ....

So, Christians aren't allowed to listen to BR because they are christians? GG.

  97. N.... ....

To use your own example, if robots do start killing humans, does that mean their human creators are malevolent? Is someone who doesn't feed the poor and needy malevolent? Is someone who pays their taxes, thus funding a military that slaughters innocent civilians malevolent? The main problem with most humans is they try to apply human morality to God, god, or gods. The truth of the matter is, Morality is a lie. It's a human made concept used to control minds and influence society.

  98. M.... ....

1: I accept your argument, this means that God is malevolent
2: Humanity can steal? Why would he do that? I mean, look at Robots, we are starting to develop AIs, whats the first thing we teach them? "Don't kill humans, Obey humans unless it conflicts with rule 1, and Protect yourself unless it conflicts with rule 1 and 2"

Why God didn't put that in? We STOLE from a God? That makes me think we are in the same level.

To me it looks like God is malevolent thus not the God of the bible

  99. M.... ....

"All the evidence points to no deities."

I think he... said that wrong (Excuse my grammar english is not my first language) he meant to say the lack of evidence points to no deities, and about your argument that one needs evidence to support something NOT existing... i don't agree, that kind of thinking is not logical to me, i can't understand how someone would think like that, so i can't refute what you say, or argue against it, since we think different, sorry.
