I love this song starting so magnumish and is about the past and nostalgia and stuff :) then it becomes avantasia.. i think it was intentional..

Average album.  First three songs were good, but the rest of the album goes downhill after that.

Pretty average album. And imagining that the best of Bob's recordings have made it to the album it's a pretty poor song at that. Similar to the latest Magnum live output Bob is more roaring than singing. And live without the possibility of picking the best take it will probably be even worse.

dun be surprise if in few months a priest will change the lyrics n ask the choir boys to sing this song on sunday mass

While the Song is good. it could use a female singer in the chorus.

This album is so disappointing. Extremely underwhelming. Well, I suppose they had to release something shitty eventually. Bop choir etc. No magic, except for the one song pre-released as a single.

That was my initial reaction as well, but a few songs are growing on me
The problem is Raven Child was such a hype bomb, and it's arguably the best song they ever made, far above the rest of the album
Only song that comes close to it imo is Book of shallows

I understand you .At first listen i prefer Ghoslight .GL had more bombastic songs ,with epic moments .In my opinion the Avantasian fans don' t should be comparison Avantasia albuns ,they are totally diferents each other .We must be gratefull because Tobias Sammet does great music in these days .This album grows listen after listen ,but i respect your opinion.

I have another opinion. This album rocks! I like death metal and black metal but I appreciate this music too..

Not their best album, but it's still decent. Also Ghost in the Moon is probably one of their best songs

what is sepia

@calboye Sepia is a color format used in pictures and videos a century ago. Is not Black and white but "brown and grey" it was very popular before color photos came in, because it was not "black and white"anymore.

@nelson correia yeah for sure. My favourite songs of Avantasia is always the ones that Tobi writes to him and Bob. So just imagine how a full album with songs like that would sound :D

@Lamnacken songs like In quest for ,Runaway train,Journey to Arcadia ,The great Mistery ,Restless heart and Obsidian skies and now Lavender is unforgetable tracks.By the way one of my favourite album by Catley solo is When Empires Burn .

This track is amazing from Bob Catley voice . One of my favourites of this great album .

It must be only me but it sounds like an anthem. A good one definitely. The best one on this album for my ears.

Are you sure, I mean yea i think Ghostlights is abit better, but Ghostlight grew with time for me. This might as well. Still great album.

I'll have to give it another listen or two but straight up I'd place it above MoT and Ghostlights, and those were both good albums.

guys, its too early to say. Moonglow is a pretty complex beast, probably tobias's most complex album to date. Give it time.

Every Avantasia album grows on me the more I listen to it. And they all grew on me even more after I started listening to Edguy too. I refuse to rank any of them. As far as I'm concerned, they're all the best, especially because they each add to each other to make the whole even better.

MoT took quite awhile to grow on me but now I think it's one of the best. Savior in the Clockwork is simply phenomenal. I enjoyed Moonglow from the onset and like it more each listen.
