Arnold, Eddy - New World In The Morning Lyrics

Everybody talks about a new world in the morning
A new world in the morning so they say
I myself don't talk about a new world in the morning
A new world in the morning that's today

And I can feel a new tomorrow coming on
And I don't know why I have to make a song
Everybody talks a 'bout a new world in the morning
New world in the morning takes so long

I met a man who had a dream he had since he was twenty
I met that man when he was eighty-one
He said too many folks just stand and wait up till the morning
Don't they know tomorrow never comes

And he would feel a new tomorrow coming on
And when he'd smile his eyes would twinkle up in fun
Everybody talks about a new world in the morning
New world in the morning never comes

Of all Rogers many beautiful songs this one just tells me so much. About my time as a Jehovahs witnesses 35 years ago. They really believe in life being "re-broadcasted", but it never does. Eternal life is here and now.

  40. b.... ....

I once heard on the radio that this song was inspired by an unpleasant experience. Mr Whittaker was stranded in a strange town one night. He was out of ready cash, banks were closed and there were no cash machines in those days, so he had to wander around in the night and sleep rough on the streets, thinking about 'a new world in the morning'.

  41. k.... ....

My mother loved this song back in the 60's. It was the" music of our lives." I love the song to this day. Call me a simple  square , but, I who graduated from Harpur's back in '74 would listen to this song a thousand times before Stairway to Heaven. Harry Katz.

New world in the morning so they say
Now, I, myself don't talk about a new world in the morning

And I don't know why I have to make a song
Now everybody talks about a new world in the morning
