Arnold, Eddy - Kentuckian Song Lyrics
I see my darling in each spray of summer sunlight
I see my darling in the leaves that fall
I see her walking in the rainy April sadness
And hear her name in every bluebird call
Told everyone bout my darling of the happiness I found
My heart would cry more than the weeping willow tree
If my darling and her heart were not for me
I told the possum in the gumtree the rackoon on the ground
Told everyone bout my darling of the happiness I found
My heart would cry more than the weeping willow tree
If my darling and her heart were not for me...

GREAT SONG, TOO BAD MORE PEOPLE HAVEN'T VIEWED THIS
I remember this song from the late 50's. I'd heard it on the radio and remembered some of the words and the singer, Eddie Arnold but couldn't remember it's name. I loved it and would sing what I knew of it to myself while I was working in a summer harvest job to earn money for college. I loved what I knew of it. Since then, every now and then the song would rattle out of my brain and create a nostalgic moment for me. I was recently with some friends who were playing country music on their TV as background and this song recurred to me. I said the phrases (didn't dare sing them) I remembered and asked them if they knew the song. Today my friend Jim sent me a text with one word "Kentuckian". I looked it up and sure enough that was it! I'm thankful to him for finding it for me. Now I can sing the rest of the words to myself.....in my mind!
