I think such renditions are good way to introduce older classics to newer generations. Think about it - they wouldnt have known about such beautiful poetry if it was not in a Bollywood film with a very popular singer. Whether you like it not doesnt matter - the ghazal doesn't die, the poet's memory stays alive, and newer audience gets happiness - that's more important

If you ever get out of your bubble you will see million of extra or over the top modern people too prefer to listen Mehdi Hasan, nusrat fateh ali khan, Abida parveen etc... so don't insult other's choice just to make your self look batter because that makes you look "Stupid"
