Why my favorite metal band of all time have to resort to this, I'll never know!! Annihilator were so unique that recent stuff just confuses the hell out of me! And that little lyrical outro "so long" Stop with that god damn cheese. It's Childish! It drives me mad, only because I've loved the band since 1992. But I keep waiting and waiting for some "Annihilator" to return. Annihilator did not sound like anyone else years ago, so why do they do now????

The verse riff is similar to Damage, Inc. but, Jeff Waters is known to do tributes for all types of bands in the thrash metal genre.  This album overall is lacking compared to previous releases but, its still a solid album.

It's not a tribute, but a rip-off.

this record it feels like Jeff took songs from another band (rammstein, metallica) and old tapes to create a new material, but it lacks of creativity, i love Jeff and Annihilator but what happened?

No more Dave Padden i guess so Jeff is all hands on deck again like with Refresh the Demon and Remains etc. Jeff is an amazing player but his song writing is lacking at times. Ever since the early 90's there have been skippable tracks on every Annihilator album, and it's sad because Jeff deserves so much more than what he has.

He gave himself a free pass on everything in this album. Having fun and ignoring the thoughts of this part sounds like this band and that part sounds like that band. Without a threshold as he put it.

It is like damaged inc  but the riff is slightly different if you listen it skips a few notes and hangs  which makes it sound like a different riff to me.  Waters admits to using metallica like riffs like bloodbath which which has a puppets like riff. But everyone rips everyone else off anyway.  He still has his own uniquie style, plus it sounds good so who cares.  He can out solo most of them  and is a better singer than most of the thrash bands imo.

to those saying that it sounds similar to metallica or saying that it's even a ripoff, when you listen to music count 1-2-3-4. that's the melody you should output, when you do that you'll see that it's not that similar. it only sounds the same when you hear the wrong melody. if this and metallica's damage inc is the same thing then a lot of songs would be the same too

Jeff needs to please stop writing lyrics. Its embarrassing! The problem is, is that he's not passionate about the topics he writes about. He just goes, fuck it, i'll write about that! There are 10 year olds that could write better lyrics. And did he not stop and think for a second, that the verse sounds exactly like Damage Inc no? Its heartbreaking cause I know what Annihilator were and are capable of. I'm such a huge fan since 1992 but it's getting too much at this stage.

+T Shock I agree in some ways. Jeff is to me a Composer. He needs to go isolate himself and listen to his older stuff. He had diversity that could qualify for All Genres. Take the song "Annihilator" for ex...It's got the "Groove" lol,
The best example is the song "Speed". In my Opinion Jeff is best at matching the theme of the song with the instruments.

Dave Padden's been the lyricist and singer and Jeff took care of all the music, now Jeff is alone since Dave left

Better than Suicide Society, but still boring. This does sound a lot like Damage Inc, but I can't put my finger on why I dislike it. Jeff's vocals sound so flat, the drums sound weak, the lyrics sound like they were written by an angsty teenager, and the clean parts sound the same as they have since the 80s. I guess they'll never have that same bite that they had during Alice In Hell or Never, Neverland.
