In an interview once, Jeff stated that to play Annhilators 'style' of music, you should spend at least one year studying the picking style of Metallica, then another year studying the picking style of Slayer / Megadeath! Metallica has tight picking which is what creates the 'refined' thrash metal sound that Annihlator gives us
