Honestly its not really about the lyrics. More like the sound of the song is what matters. In which that's what I believe Tom does with his music. And his music does always sound amazing and or beautiful.

Whenever I watch Stranger Things, I start singing this song... why does it sound like the theme song? Were they inspired by this song, or was Tom inspired by them?

Very late, but this song is very much like the New Order song Truth, which I think more likely inspired Stranger Things, considering all of the Joy Division/New Order songs on the soundtrack.

Nah it's just a riff influenced by Lullaby. Tom is influenced by the cure so makes sense :)

This is surprisingly good. But why separate This from Even blink... its much closer  to blink than previous ava albums

I hear suicide here. Heart broken, can't have her back, suicide.. Pray like the kids in hell. Came in here my self. I injured my self. It is believed we go to hell after suicide. Kid in my home town killed himself after his gf broke up with him. I hear regret in this. Almost as if it's being sung by the kid after the suicide. If that makes sense.

The sound is very similar to The Cure.. Great!

Am I the only one who thinks this song is about seduction and cheating on your significant other? The Kiss With a Spell is like symbolism for seduction and he doesn't want anyone to know he cheated  so he says "Don't say it
Don't say it loud". I don't know it might just be me.

I wasn’t sure if the new record was going to evoke feelings like the previous ones have, but I was wrong. When listening to Tremors, Mercenaries, Kiss With A Spell and Tunnels in sequence, they indeed evoke emotion, and feelings I once buried and forgotten. Seems stupid to let music resurrect dead feelings, but they’re a part of your personal evolution and ascension of the soul. For me, I speak how I feel through songs, which is to say, not always understood to those who can say how they feel through mere words.

Tremors reminds me of the excitement I had with a previous love – life felt different, I saw things differently. While I was blinded by how I felt, I knew she wasn’t good for me, but I didn’t care, I was on a ride to the unknown since I felt you never really know where opportunities will take you unless you try. 

Mercenaries/Kiss With A Spell brings to light the battle I fought with both my emotions and the lack there of on her part, trying to make a means to an end with what we had. My heart was a ghost stuck on that lonely cove, and wherever I seemed to go, I left a bit of that sorrow that I was feeling as it begun to wither. She really didn’t need to count me out, but she did and I refused to give up – initially. In the end I was unable to say it, be it out loud or to myself, that it indeed, was over. That first kiss was rapture laced with a spell of thorns.

Tunnels remind me of how I felt dead when it all fell apart, like it was all a bad dream. I wanted nothing more but to pull her close, but it was too late, as my heart was already gone and I was drowning in a river of sorrow. Wherever I went, I felt like I was chasing after her, but going nowhere fast, while leaving a wake of destruction. I eventually put those feelings to rest and begun my ascension from the bottom.

These songs just seem so powerful when listened to together (and individually), but that’s what I love about AVA, they bring out raw emotion, and even paint surreal pictures in my mind of things you cannot see with your own eyes. It totally sounds stupid saying this aloud, but as a fan, I thought I’d share.

Blink 182 I think in future times will be revered not as highly talented, but like the band Rush. They will always have a big following, and their influence has carried over to so many

this cd sounds decent..i own the physical copies of the 4 previous albums and loved everyone of them....really liked the super spacy and melodicness of the previous albums...especially the first 2....this one is going to be my least favorite by a long run...but ill still rock the shit out of it.

I know it needs some better mixing and remastering, but I'm amazed how AVA can deliever a world, a state of spirit with their music. The chorus simply made me get out of my mind... and it's not even my favorite kind of music. Amazing!
