Amos, Tori - Broken Arrow Lyrics

This broken arrow needs heeding
When great white fathers
Your mistress is inequality

Rash and reckless
Won't get us
To where we want to be
Are we emancipators or oppressors
Of lady liberty?

Have we lost her
Have we lost her
Have we lost her

This broken arrow needs heeding
When great white fathers
Our poisoned rivers feed your greed

Rash and reckless
Won't get us
To where we want to be
Ancient songlines are singing to wake
Lady liberty

She may seem weak
We may be battle weary
Still those songlines sing
From our Great Lakes
To our sacred Badlands
Over sweet prairies

No I'm not letting go
I won't be silenced or frozen out
By those who must account
In our Senate
And in the House

We the people
Dear judges
Will be watching

Over you
Over you

Have we lost her
Have we lost her

This broken arrow needs heeding

This song and album is so timely. Music for the Resistance.

    What do you resist?

    J.... W....

Josef Venport Trump, Brexit, Russia the and the rest of the patriarchy.

@JN West Interesting. I'm a longtime Tori fan, but resist most of the exact opposite to you. Trump is just another puppet of the Deep State, as Obama, Bush and Clinton etc. before him. Brexit is fine with me, as I, as a German, am sympathetic to anyone who opposes any undemocratic, centralised, unelected, unchecked power that overrides the sensible principle of subsidiarity and of national sovereignty. I don't see Russia as the enemy. I'm a feminist, so with you on the patriarchy.

One of my top four Tori albums of all time. Definitely one of her best - ever. I’m loving it!
