America - Young Moon Lyrics
Fascination with the light in your hair
A celebration, nothing else can compare
An invitation to share my life with you
Stepping forward, reaching out for your hand
Like a vision rising out of the blue
Looking like a
Young moon in the heavens
Mother to the stars
Young moon guide us tonight
Elevation to a place high above
The combination, you and me and our love
Determination to spend my life with you
Looking at you face to face with my world
A quiet beauty not like just any girl
Moving slowly from the dark into view
Looking like a
Young moon in the heavens
Mother to the stars
Young moon guide us tonight
We are here in this moment
Shining twice as bright
We are here for you to see
Bright lights, long shadows
Tonight, we can handle
All of the doubts we may hold inside
It is a new day, things are different now
We've got each other
We'll keep looking for that young moon
We are here in this moment
Shining twice as bright
We are here for all to see
Young moon in the heavens
Mother to the stars
Young moon guide us tonight
We are here in this moment
Shining twice as bright ...

America Young Moon Comments
First time I heard young Moon from America it's it's light and refreshing soft rock listening I missed out out of all the songs from America I only basically had the greatest hits and The Harbor which I absolutely love so I'm playing catch-up they're really good
Great effort, although i don't believe they've ever done any good much after their original 1970's success. They have become somewhat arrogant and dismissive of former band member Dan Peek in some online interviews. Sad way for them to end after all these years...
You can noticed how they change their musical style some kind of a 90's vibes. How shameful that this album was not highly recognized during the 90's. This is gold for me it was like a long lost treasure.
iT's a crime that this song went nowhere. You know who to blame. Let's hear it.
Oh Dewey an Gerry you're voice's so extremely gorgeous love you Beautiful America!
Been a fan since 1971 and have played much of their music myself with some friends... They are truly the best
OMG ! What song ! I'm floating ! What emotion ! God , please bless America. 🇺🇸♥️
So Truly Beautiful America you're Amazing! Love you America

Another great America song under the radar
I love Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell so much. God bless them. ♥️♥️♥️♥️
An Dan peek love an truly miss my lovely sweetheart!
Amazing song and album !!!! Has a relaxed vibe throughout, just like a classic America album should be !!!
Beautiful, beautiful words. Well done Dewey!
Beautiful..love this song and so many more of this great band👌
It sounds nice on a 6 string acoustic guitar
Fascination of song, no way, love it.
if released as a single and got some air time would of been a #1 hit
America's best song.. Daily listen for me, STILL!!!
Love this song so much, Dewey has a great voice.
I love Lee Dewey Bunnell.
Great song and group, memories!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This song is precious, fills me with emotion , America really is a great band
When I'm listening to America , I'm floating in the air. Very emotion. I love America ! 🇺🇸♥️
This little band continue to amaze. All their songs have been pure quality and this one is amongst the best. Brilliant album Hourglass. Is it me but when I play an album by them I want to start all over again. They are mystical in their brilliance.
This album is slowly becoming one of my favorites. A lost treasure among many great albums
Another Great song by Gerry and Dewey thank you America.
Don't forget Dan Peak......Brilliant......
Oh Dan Peek ! How I miss you.🇺🇸♥️
Excellent song, great lyrics, beautiful tune!!!. The only thing I would ask is why they didn't´t use a real drummer in this song?. That would´ve made it even GREATER!!!!
There are 2 songwriters that touch my inner core and one is Dewey Bunnell..the other is Justin Hayward. Keep on writing those wonderful songs!
Peter Jordan
Same here!
America and Moody Blues/Justin Hayward solo music...my two favorite bands. Blessed to be able to see Justin Hayward twice within the last 3 years here in St. Louis. Timeless music and incredible talents!
Bella, I missed Justin on a recent trip of his to Sacramento. If you listen to some of the earlier MBs music it is apparent that Ray Thomas not only sang many of their wonderful songs but also wrote them. That is one reason why I miss not having him partake with Justin, John and Graeme on their tours. Let's hope that the MBs 50th anniversary will also include Ray and Mike Pinder. I have been hoping to "bump into" Mike when I am in Grass Valley where he lives with his American wife. If the group Yes just entered the R&R Hall of Fame then explain to me why our Moodies have not? We need to commence a grass roots movement to have our Moodies inducted sooner than later.
Peter, I agree and second that motion- The Moody Blues should certainly be included amongst other artists within an American music Hall of Fame facet. I will have to read up on the band's history. I was not aware that some of their music was written by a now absent member of the band. Very interesting. Justin's "Western Sky" album is a real gem, by the way. But, I can't help but fall back on the songs from his early years with the MBs.
Bella, the following are my favorite MB songs.... The Day We Meet Again, Never Blame The Rainbows, Are You Sitting Comfortably, Watching and Waiting (my #1 song) and Candle of Life....I only wish Justin would include them in their concerts. They are his compositions. I am waiting on their tour dates for their 50th Anniversary....Only 2 dates have been released so far..forget where they are located.
Peter, those are very good selections! I have my favorites as well. "Watching and Waiting" happens to be my 2nd favorite. My 1st pick is "Dawning is the Day". "Never Comes the Day" and "Blue Guitar" are also high on the list for me. One of the elements that I especially appreciate and admire most in Justin's compositions, is in how within a single song one can be taken into a sense of another time and place...ethereal, serene, and even haunting at times. Additionally, I love how the change of rhythm, melody, and mood within one song is created.
Had the pleasure of hearing this song for the first time at one of their concerts in '94 before they had released the Hourglass album. Liked it instantly.
This album is a lost gem. The whole CD has a mood to it. Great for Sunday morning coffee and newspaper.
Stunning song from a much under-rated Band. Hourglass is a great album which this song came from.
Musik zum..... einfach super!
One of Dewey Bunnells best. Nice lyrics and the harmonies that you expect from these guys.
Beautiful!!! RIP Dan Peek, Dan seals, Dan Fogelberg

1972, back and forth between Charleston , West Va. and Fredericksburg, Va. ...A wide open interstate system and America, this is about 94 I believe

PRECIOUS SONG.
I LOVE THIS SONG !!!!!
PRESS ON AMERICA & THE COUNTRY...PRESS ON!
Okay it's not 1972 and the studio style has changed, but play this track a few times and all of Dewey Bunnell's genius for a quirky melody is still in there. Sure the first three albums (to Hattrick) showcased a unique talent, but there's lots from the 80's/90's well worth checking out too.
Prairie Dan excelente. música y sonidos que alegran el espíritu y el mundo en que vivimos aaDios
Yeah, When are things gone turn down like this?
Not sayin' it's bad but it's not my America. I miss the acoustic style of the 70's. I know time progresses, and this is 18 years ago as it is. I would so love to meet these guys. I heard they are very polite and appreciate their fans. No arrogance.
met dewey in liverpool great guy,not to sure about gerry though.......
In the early 70s I was nuts about Gerry, but over the years (and in my opinion) he started to come across as too self-conscious and loving the limelight too much with a touch of vanity. Having said that, in some ways he compliments Dewey because Dewey is the natural, country-loving guy and Gerry is the sophisticate, loving the technological and the artificial. I think now, Gerry has matured and so has some of his songs. Dewey has the better voice now and possibly, the better looks!
Hi Gerry's a very nice looking man after he's aged. An Dewey's a nice looking man also after both Guy's Has Aged. I thank their look's are outstanding an Gerry Buckley an Dewey bunnell. Signs Beautiful Together After all Those year's.
Beautiful Guy's Beautiful America. DEWEY BUNNELL.. GERRY BUCKLEY.
Great musicians, nice melody, an excellent song!!!... a classic
Finally!!Thank You so very much !I have been searching for this song for like ages now!!Thank you thank you!
With this song I can remember my days in the early 90"s..
