America - We Got All Night Lyrics

I'm writing a love scene to this tune...

I was born late in the 70's so when this song came out I was just 7 years old. But I grew up with my parents listening to their music. Now I'm 42 and I'm currently digging all their songs aside from those that I grew up familiar with. I came across this and I can't get enough listening over and over again. This is really a great song and so do many others in their other albums. I can easily come up with 50-60 tracks that are really great but wonder so much why they didn't do much in the charts when they are really excellent.

This band was and always will be great. This whole album is incredibly smooth and well done. Should have done better on the charts, but the charts don't always give us the best indication of the best music, more just the trends in music.

+Al Mora Very much in tune with the 80's. And it came out in 1984. Wow! I have been confused for the most part of my life as to how these songs by America fall to the wayside. These are their best ones! It's like if it were another band singing their songs, they would be legentary. Well, they are actually legentary! That's why they got a star on Hollywood Blvd!

+Subhash Pawar You're right! They never did. Just trying to figure out what the problem was. This one from Perspective had top 40 all over it. And so many others they did. They're not dead yet. But I don't think they will put out anymore hits. Albums but not hit songs.

I just recently bought this album on a double album set that had America the bands live album from back in 1985

Harbor was the last album of ther golden Sir Martin years and was released in 1977.... and included Dan Peek...it also didnt do well...but i was refering to the 80s comeback trilogy albums of 82/83/and 84'

Did they ever sing that song in concert? I really like "Right Back to Me" from Alibi. IT's one of my favorites...

Back in those days, early 1980's when "View from the Ground" "Your Move" and "Perspective" were new, Gerry Beckley and his "hair" were very funny. And his big glasses too. Since then, the band has put out an unlimited number of songs that are worthy of worldly attention, but it never came to pass. America's best songs are those songs which never made it.

After AMERICA returned with a 2nd wind in the 80s with 1982's 'View from the Ground' and 1983's 'Your Move', this 1984 release, 'Perspective' landed with a thud putting an abrupt end to the 'comeback'; having the distinction of being their lowest charting studio album ever. Its rather unfortunate, because this album, IMO, is stronger than either of the prior 2, overall. A lovely melodic montage greets the listener from start to finish with compositions featuring assitance from outside musicians
