America - The Farm Lyrics

We're feedin' the world but we can't feed ourselves
They tell us don't plant now but there's nothing on the shelves
If someone is watchin' down from above
What in the world is he thinkin' of

Daisy I think we must sell the farm
And you know I don't wanna cause alarm
The times are a changin', the money is gone
Where do we go from here, where do we go from here

If someone is watchin' down from above
What in the world is he thinkin' of

Daisy I think we must sell the farm
And you know I don't wanna cause you harm
The times are a changin', the money is gone
Where do we go from here, where do we go from here
Where do we go from here

Thanks for this one, Jim. I've never had the chance to listen to tracks from their Encore album, except for Dewey's rocker "Hell's On Fire." It is interesting to see"Daisy" make her reappearance in this tune. Do you think "the farm" was near Memphis?

Hi, Cat! Yes, I guess "the farm" could be in Memphis or here is Michigan...or anywhere else in the country. God bless them all. A great song by Mr. Beckley, for sure. Thanks so much for your comments, my friend.

Yes, I think Gerry Beckley wrote this during the farm crisis era, John. I know it struck a cord with me. I sure hope things are better for those folks today. God bless them all. Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
