I was a kid when this came out, so it was the song that taught me how an acoustic lead guitar sounded. Never stopped loving it.

I always thought the late great Dan was the leader of this band, but Dewey's voice was more marketable in those 70's airwaves. Great song and thanks for the post!

There they were, America, in the 70's with their acoustic Ovation guitars, blowing us all away. The album this song is on is from their first album which was considered one of the greatest debut albums ever. I think it remained their best even after they became incredibly popular. I saw them in El Paso in 1975. Electrifying! (Acoustically)

My favorite back in highschool

IMHO this was their best album in it's entirety, like Chicago's first and Foreigner's and Ambrosia's first albums. I think that in most instances fame and fortune changes the direction of the music away from "do what we like and is important to us" toward "do what will make money".

I agree with every thing you said about first albums by those groups. Also Gary Wright, Bad Company, Montrose, Boston, and Flock of Seagulls.
