I stumbled upon this song, this fan version, while looking for an old friend of a song I use to listen to at night. As I heard your version I smiled and said "fine I'll finally subscribe! " but as I went to subscribe, tears burst from my eyes as a hidden dam of emotions was broken and I cried in memory of something ephemeral, lost before it could be held. I remembered youth, I remembered my mother, I remembered previous happiness and I cried in that moment. As I type this the tears slowly dry and I think of giving the replay button a chance.

Whenever I think of escaflowne my heart hurts :,( this cover is really beautiful and embodies a lot of what this show was about.

I love this song, it reminds me of my childhood every time i hear it, and when I watch the anime for the very first time. Which actually was my first anime I watched.

This song is as beautiful as all your other songs. Each is a unique piece of art. I'm glad you didn't change the lyrics bc then it would just ruin the song. You kept it pretty similar to the original. BUT. There was thing that really stuck out to me about this. I knew I could smell something different in the air about this song but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. But then when I found it I almost screamed. Something so awful even my body started rejecting it by having an allergic reaction and made me start sneezing. This almost ruined the song for me:

There is something very poetic about the fact that these are just made up words. The composer of the song, Yoko Kanno, wrote down the words she was feeling in her heart when she listened to the song. She's brilliant. May I remind you, she wrote the iconic song that played in Cowboy Bebop while a man (no spoilers so i will just leave it as "a man") fell from a church window slowly to his death. Brilliant.

I need to tell you a story about me and hearing her angelic voice in this song. I was listening to her music on shuffle on Spotify and suddenly this song comes on. I've never seen this anime before so I was about to skip it but then she sings the first beautiful note and my heart melted instantly. I listened to it to the very end and by the time I finished it I was already in tears. I'm going through a really tough time in my life right now and the softness of her voice calmed me right down.
