Allman Brothers Band, The - Come On In My Kitchen Lyrics

You better come on into my kitchen
Cause it's sure to be raining outdoors
When a woman's in trouble
Everybody puts her down
She look for her good man
Lord he can't be found
You better come on
Into my kitchen
Cause it's going to be
Raining outdoors
There's a cold wind blowin'
Leaves tremblin' on the trees
Don't you know that that good girl
Ya she's leaving me
You better come on
Into my kitchen
Cause it's going to be
Raining outdoors
The woman I've been lovin'
Left with my best friend
That joker got lucky
Stole her back again
You better come on
Into my kitchen
Cause it's going to be
Raining outdoors
Well that good girl's leaving
She ain't coming back
Took her last nickel
From her notion sack
You better come on
Into my kitchen
Cause it's going to be
Raining outdoors
Mama's dead and gone
Father's no wheres to be
I ain't got nobody
To love and care for me
You better come on
Into my kitchen
Cause it's going to be
Raining outdoors
Yes, it's going to be raining outdoors
Yes, it's going to be raining outdoors

Allman Brothers Band, The Come On In My Kitchen Comments
  1. R.... O....

    Can't get better than this.

  2. j.... G....

Tales of Two worlds, the one we mortal folks walk on terra firma and the one we pass on to...cause Lord knows there ain't no such thing as dying....!

  3. f.... ....

One of those pieces that lodges in your brain. An old Robert Johnson lament arranged for the band by (I think) guitarist Dickey Betts. Southern rock at its best.

  4. B.... H....

Rest In Peace Gregg Allman, Butch Trucks and Allen Woody

  5. R.... F....

My kitchen is always open to the friends of the Allman Brothers right here in Stafford county, Virginia , I kid you not. Let me know if you're passing through, you will be welcomed.

  6. D.... S....

These boys didn't play music they felt it... They spoke it.

  7. T.... c....

Greg made a statement saying you can really appreciate the blues once you have really experienced them

  8. G.... H....

Just makes me smile and feel warm. Up here in Manitoba it's about 40 below tonight--maybe 50. I dunno--I'm smilin' and warm.

    G.... H....

That polar vortex is quite intense. Alberta has it too. Well, at least we have great music like this.

  9. D.... S....

best version of any Robert Johnson song for me, still love his original (worth a listen) but this is perfection.

  10. F.... ....

Them boys shore is good on them git-tars.

  11. F.... C....

It don't get any better than this

  12. T.... S....

  18. L.... D....

what the hell is wrong with the people that put 21 thumbs down....it don't get no more real than this....I live here in Macon ga....and Skynyrd and the Allman Brothers are the best 2 bands that will ever be....RIP Gregg,Duane,Barry,Ronnie van zant,Allen Collins,Steve gains,Butch, and all the rest that define southern rock and roll!!!!

    L.... D....

That's why they make chocolate ice cream and vanilla ice cream. Different strokes for different folks! What I don't get is, if a person doesn't like a song why stay around to make a negative comment? Just leave and don't listen to that band in the future. Simple as that.

    L.... D....

such a great band missed by all

    L.... D....

I'll be 60 in 2 weeks, I love the ABB and all the other bands I was so lucky to see back then.
I saw these guys back in the day, nothing today compares to their style today (except maybe TTB, but there is a good pedigree there!).Music like this happened when the competition was STIFF;Skynrd, Marshall Tucker, Zeppellin, Bad Company, Rolling Stones, Deep Purple, Aerosmith, Ted Nugent, Boston,  Montrose and MANY more.If EVERY song on the album wasn't good, you weren't even in the game.

    L.... D....

steve casey this actually happens to be a cover... another song stolen and given credit... it’s prolly the beat one I’ve heard rip Gregg but they don’t deserve the credit that’s given all this songs credits go solely to Robert Johnson

    L.... D....

go to rt 3 allen road, macon and see the irby empire ,gone! friends of the brothers, allman. all gone now.

  19. O.... W....

It's goin' to be rainin' outdoors

When a woman gets in trouble, everybody throws her down
Lookin' for her good friend, none can be found
You better come on in my kitchen

  30. F.... B....

you said it no brains or talent these dayz 1972 old soul

  31. P.... P....

I've been listening to the ABB since Junior HS (1977-78). No shticks or gimmicks, just PURE soul-FULL music created by talented musicians. Unfortunately, today's music is nursery rhymed corporate lip synced garbage created for the masses then marketed with lots of shinny objects. Wake the fuck up... and listen to the music ! ~ Peace

  32. j.... a....

    bad ass

  33. F.... ....

    You gotta love this band

  34. S.... B....

Just ate at The ol' "H & H" Down in Macon and idk why but this song doesn't help me escape that great food's memory. Talk about SOUL! Damn Mama Louise, even the silverware had Soul. xD

    H.... C....

    Shades Of Two Worlds.

  40. C.... W....

seen it live, a lot of the drum beats come from tapping on the accoustic guitars' bodies...

  41. C.... W....

ya better come on in my kitchen well, it's goinna be rainin' outdoors a woman i know took my best friend some joker got lucky stole her back again ya better come on in my kitchen it's goin' to be rainin' outdoors well she's gone i know she won't come back i took the last nickel out of her nation sack you better come on in my kitchen well, it's goin' to be rainin' outdoors yeah can't you hear that wind howl? you can hear it now you better come on in my kitchen 'cause it's gon be rainin' outdoors

  42. C.... W....

My favorite song of ALL time... It would be great to give credit to the writer in the description: Robert Johnson. Just a suggestion, thank you SO MUCH for posting this song...

  43. C.... W....

An does it with nearly no drums... A near-impossible feat!
Hats of to R Johnson (the song's writer) and the Brothers...

    C.... W....

Cactus Wolf ,as good as The Allman brothers were Eric Clapton plays Robert Johnson's songs better
I would that I could mimic The Late Great Gregg Allman's voice

  44. C.... R....

Talk about white soul...ain't no better. Great crossover for the uninitiated.

  45. B.... A....

Delanie & Bonnie has a superb version...

  46. S.... R....

Dickey is not dead. Barry Oakley, Duane Allman are passed away.both in motorcycle accidents.

  47. C.... W....

This song does what it's supposed to do: Show you AND make you realize/feel your SOUL...

  48. C.... W....

    RIP
    Dickie, Allen, Dwayne...

    C.... W....

    Dickey is still alive lol.

  49. N.... G....

best version, thanku lord!! i been blessed.

  50. g.... ....

Cracking cover of the Robert Johnson original

  51. R.... L....

Oh to have been blessed with a Duane Allman & Berry Oakley for 70 years. What would that have been like? As good as they are... gawddamn bikes.

  52. A.... D....

You can hear from the second that this song starts, that it's going to be amazing.

It only gets better as the vocals join in.

  53. T.... ....

Excellent if funereal version.. but nowhere near as good as the acoustic version featuring Duane with Delaney and Bonnie on vocals. Check out the recording here on YouTube...

  54. B.... ....

Love it my brother. Makes me want a plate of ham hocks, black eyed peas and grits. Get down Southern boy.

  55. l.... ....

    This track is . . . just . . . so great.

  56. R.... D....

Back On The Right Track -- My brothers have got that Macon Ga sound back in the there bloodstream and drinking that muddy water!!!
