Allman Brothers Band, The - Bad Rain Lyrics
Don't come around here no more,
bringing me all of your bad rain.
Can't you see I've got troubles of my own.
I ain't got time to be messing with all of your bad rain,
why in the world can't you just leave that stuff alone?
you and I both know the reason why it all went wrong.
Tried to stick by you, help you see it through,
but you used me all up, now you're on your own.
So, don't come around here no more,
bringing me all of your bad rain.
Can't you see I've got troubles of my own.
I ain't got time to be messing with all of your bad rain,
why in the world can't you just leave that stuff alone?
Well I tried and tried again, to be good to you,
but you won't a hear a word and I don't know what it's coming to.
there's nothing left to do, nothing left to say.
So, don't come around here no more,
bringing me all of your bad rain.
Can't you see I've got troubles of my own.
I ain't got time to be messing with all of your bad rain,
why in the world can't you just leave that stuff alone?
I ain't someone to be preaching to nobody else,
ain't going to try and pretend to be living that clean myself.
Can't stand by and watch you throw your life away,
But there's nothing left to do, nothing left to say.
So, don't come around here no more,
bringing me all of your bad rain.
Can't you see I've got troubles of my own.
I ain't got time to be messing with all of your bad rain,
why in the world can't you just leave that stuff alone?
Why in the world can't you just leave that stuff alone?

Anyone wondering how good Dickey was in his heyday, here is the definitive answer. Of all his incredible work, the solo in this song (the first one obviously) is IMO not only HIS best, but probably the most perfectly constructed and played solo I've ever heard in my life. Out of 100 plays, I've not heard it once without getting chicken skin.
Not one chance in hell Warren plays like that, and even less of a chance Dickey sleeps thru all those dreary hammer ons and pull offs in the second
@quarter_moon and_a_guitar sorry but Jake is correct I believe. That 1st solo is def not Betts' style, not his tone, and last of all it is finger picked. 2nd solo is done with a pick and it is the normal, yawny sound I have dreaded for near 50 years waiting for Duane to get back to shredding those sweet licks. It even has the signature Allen Collins hammer on pull offs we know from Betts so well and wore out ala Freebird
i must say how lucky i am to have witnessed this line up many many times....... songs like this will change your life and leave you smiling ! live on brother woody your bass will forever rival the loudest claps of thunder and the strongest of winds !
Just heard this song from our local Blues radio station.
I can't get enough of it. Love it.
Awesome!!!!
Used to see them EVERY New Year's Eve at the "Warehouse" in New Orleans, they would play till 3am, thern hit the clubs and we'd follow them. That was when Duane was still alive and kicking.......In Memory of Elizabeth Reed, probably the song Iove the most with Duane "riffin" it !!!!
Allman gurrroooooovyyy. Owners of the southern groove quotient. Wrote the book. Every time I've seen em they COOKED like noone else can do it. ] -)
The Brothers were back with Shades of Two Worlds. Probably helped that Betts took a more prominent role in the songwriting. His playing was never better as well.
great song
There is a note in the third verse that cracks me up....he hits it better than most 21 year olds.....
Love this song....Gregg never sounded better......
