Allman Brothers Band, The - All Night Train Lyrics

Last night sorta got so insane,
as I went ridin' on the all night train.
Took it down the street and around the block,
took it downtown baby where the big boys rock.
Roll on, roll on,
take me where I can ease my pain.
Preacher say boy now where you been?
Getting lead in my pockets,
putting money in sin.
When the mornin' comes not a nickel to my name,
threw it all away on the all night train.
Ride, let the passenger ride.
Ride, let the passenger ride.
I woke up late yesterday afternoon,
my eyeballs feeling like two balloons.
The doctor say things ain't never gonna change,
till you stop riding that all night train.
Ride, let the passenger ride.
Ride, let the passenger ride.
Took a little trip to keep from going insane,
spent the rest of my life on the all night train.
All night train.
All night train.
All night train.

Got to see this done by Warren, Allen and a guy they had in tow on the skins, 4 song set in the middle of a Sunday morning at the Sarasota Brewing company in the spring of '94. 1st time seeing Warren and I was sold from Note 1 as I sat on the floor in front of him so close I could of tied his shoes. Not only did they melt my face off they turned out to be very cool unpretentious Cat's, they hung out w/ the massive crowd of about 8 of us and only left as someone poked their head into the bar to tell them the clock was running again. They had been in a studio across the street recording all night.
What were my buddies in I doing in a bar on a Sunday morning, we thought the place was a church, turned out we were right!

This is my 2nd favorite Allman Bros tune. First one is, "Sailing 'Cross the Devil's Sea." Man! What a song!! Next time you're on a roadtrip, throw in the "Where It All Begins." Especially if you're driving through the mountains. <3

I smoked so much weed listening to this album. This was actually the first album that really turned me on to the Allmans. I was born too late. I love "No One To Run With"… Kinda has the same effect as "All My Rowdy Friends Have Settled Down" by Hank Jr.

  6. B.... C....

Me thinks Warren had a hand in writing this little ditty.

  7. Y.... R....

Yes Warren Haynes. And Allen Woody back then from Gov't Mule.

  8. n.... ....

No, this album came out over 20 years after Duane died... I'm pretty sure it's Warren here.

  9. m.... ....

Holy shit this song is amazing. Is Duane playing slide?

  10. m.... ....

Good song, but would be better in stereo.

  11. A.... D....

    I love this.
