A muchos este disco le parecerá un sacrilegio, un ejercicio innecesario de añoranza a tiempos pasados. El cuarteto de Los Ängeles se sumerge en un mundo paralelo para rememorar el sonido californiano de los años sesenta. "Calico review" suena a los Beach Boys, a los Zombies e incluso tiene ramalazos a The Beatles. Me parece que a estas alturas hacer este esfuerzo de retronostalgia no aporta nada. El disco es impecable y cuenta con canciones más que convincentes como "Famous Phone Figure" o "Could be you", pero la verdad es que no hay ninguna necesidad, a no ser que quieras celebrar un guateque repleto de cachivaches. En ese caso hasta la bola de cristales colgada del techo te va a sobrar.
