I like Alison Krauss, but in this instance it's an example of a singer over -singing the song and taking away the emotion of the song.Listen to Emmylou and compare it to this.

Yes I see what you mean. I listened to EH version as you suggested. You seem to be comparing two different things. Like apples and oranges. I see merit in both versions. What other posters seem to getting from AK is this "celestial" quality in her singing - beyond emotion almost. Beyond earth.

I was lucky enough to meet her at a concert in Knoxville maybe 10 year ago, and yes she is truly one oh America’s treasures, she always get right me in the feels.

Boy did she ever sing that, it was beautiful, Love this lady and her music.

If Sony RCA or whatever would get it together......we need her to do a duet with the only singer that could sing ballads with such emotion,vocal interpretation......Elvis...she just recorded two of his songs......it would be brilliant......with her delicate voice and his art of the love song.......she has sang with...some not deserving......I did like her duet w/John Waite....missing you...they should have won the Grammy for it.....she is just sublime....my fave.....!!

What mental defect occupies the 99 thumbs down on this performance? Worms in their collective brain? Krauss' pitch and note are perfect. Always has been. She does great homage to this great Rodney Crowell ballad, made immortal by Emmylou Harris. Just stunning vocal and indescribable.

I love Albert Lee's version of this as a guitar player . But vocally this is probably the nicest version I have ever heard there are singers and some fine singers then you have alison . And that's all one can say .

Hey, 'Until I Can Gain Control Again' as a song title, must be one of the most insightful statements ever written. In a few short words it expresses what so many us feel when we find ourselves in places we don't want to be. I would love to know the back story. I thought this was perhaps Rodney's best song until he came up with, 'It's Not Over Yet,' which is kind of magnificent. Music is a wonderful thing, don't you think?

I peed next to her in a restroom at PF Chang’s in Nashville a few years back. Lol. Was a fan of her music then and still am today. She’s pure, authentic, beautifully simplistic. I hope her voice is on the loud speakers in heaven when I get there.

Rodeo management was glad she was there as " she represents diversity and represents what people wants to hear." Needless to say there is no place at Houston Rodeo and Livestock Show for good, classic country music.
