I really wonder what Layne's music would have been like if he never did drugs cause obviously drugs played a big role in around 65% of his lyrics don't argue with me cause I'll prove you wrong by telling you all his songs that talk about drugs and I know almost every song this man ever wrote but I just wonder would his music had still even been good if he didn't do the hard drugs especially heroin would Alice 'n' chains make the transition to Alice in chains so many questions pop up after I think about that 1 question and I think they should do away with all this "dare" program shit I think if you wanna teach kids about drugs the right and honest way just get them set listen to and read the lyrics of Layne Staley and talk about the life of Layne Staley from the beginning to the very end!

One thing that is really annoying is how there are comments about how 'underrated' Jerry Cantrell is on almost every single AIC video.. He certainly isn't underrated!

Wickedly seductive and Hauntingly beautiful. Alice n Chains are a genera all their own. These guys make everyone else look like teeny bop bubble gum bands. One word comes in mind " NASTY". No one comes close to the vibe you get from Alice n Chains

The whole band is amazing but damn Sean gets so little praise for how creative he is. No Excuses is one of the most basic and simple guitar parts ever (maybe topped by Moist Vagina by Nirvana for simplicity) but the way he filled that riff out is just brilliant.

This band left a lot of good music to be made. They were so good!

Many uninformed people say the same thing over and over. "Music is only a matter of personal taste".
After spending a lifetime of being a dedicated musician and actually giving a fuck I reject that premise wholly.
I have due respect for artists that I don't want to hear...I listen to new shit often. This particular song is simply outstanding. It can be broken down note by note transition to transition but it's the entire piece that needs to be judged and it is Exceptional.
Listen once or a thousand times and it doesn't matter. Unless you aren't human. The intervallic structure, the space or breath, the transformation.. it's that good. I love this song but am available to defend it on unobjective truth alone.

How can you not love this song and every other song this band produces. Even today Jerry keeps this sound alive and for that we thank you. Best band ever writing songs with meaning that gets to ones soul
