Alan Parsons Project, The - The Raven Lyrics
THE clock struck midnight
And through my sleeping
I heard a tapping at my door
I looked but nothing lay in the darkness
And so I turned inside once more
To my amazement
There stood a raven
Whose shadow hung above my door
Then through the silence
It spoke the one word
That I shall hear for evermore
Nevermore
Thus quoth the raven, nevermore
No matter how much I implore
No words can soothe him
No prayer remove him
And I must hear for evermore
Quoth the raven, nevermore
Nevermore
Thus quoth the raven, nevermore

Backing melody ties very closely with the later recorded Children of the Moon (Eye in the Sky).
Bravo ⚘
Ich habe nichts gesehen! Nichts!
Nicht gehört und nicht gerochen.
"Es" hat "Sie" nie gegeben.
Shocked. I was just shocked.
... als "Sie" vom Himmel fielen.
MH 17.. I turned inside... again.
I suddenly find myself wanting to paint with black watercolor paint.
INMORTALES!!!!!!!!!!!!! MILES DE GENERACIONES MÁS LO VAN A DISFRUTAR!!
... ein "Todesvogel"
Ich gehe nicht allein. Ein Rabe gegleitet mich.
I don't like the guitar solo towards the end. An really unnecessary addition for when it finally came out on CD.
I''m glad I never saw the raven
Wellenvormen perfekte Lösung Kreature der Sinne, ☀️
UNNNNNNDERRRRRRRRATTTTTTTEDDDDDDD OOORRRRRRR WHHHHAAAATTTTTT!!!????
NEVERMORE!
Daft punk, you naughty boys
maybe the first rock song with an ANALOG Vocoder, not a digital one. In 1976 DV was not yet invented, so impossible.
Neuaufnahme.
"...which i think was some kind of hovercraft..."
Help an old man out.... what's the name of this album????!?!?!? For the life of me I can't remember!!!!!
It´s from "Tales of Mystery and Imagination"
Pretty.
WHY OH WHY DID THEY REMASTER THIS SONG!!!! The original is fifty thousand billion times better.
The drumcorps the Colt Cadets have this song as their closing song!
The poem of E. A. Poe is amazing
Ravens are amazing animals
This song is .... ah, very good!
eloy - company of angels?
Awesome song from an awesome band . They did other good stuff but nothing compared to this musically or as a concept album.
Nevermore....
Starting at 2:34 the Baltimore ravens should use this as their intro song .
Never more................!
THERE WAS A.RAVEN THAT
HUNG AROUND MY CABIN.
HE KNEW ME AFTER 12
YEARS..WHEN I DROVE IN YOU COULD HEAR HIM...
HIS SOUNDS CHANGED OVER THE YEARS..
AT FIRST OMINOUS...
I KNOW WE WOULD HAVE BEEN PARTNERS..,...
IF IN HAD STAYED LONGER.
Mein Kopf ist kaputt. Ich brauche einen Neuen!
Raben ziehen drei Jahre in sozialer Gemeinschaft Ihre Jungen groß. Sie lernen alles von den Alten. Und was macht der Mensch??
Fucking BRILLIANT!
Incredible song 1976 !!!! the starting voice is made by a vocoder, not's human voice !!!
Incredible song 1976 !!!! the voice at the start is made from a vocoder, not human !!!
Sounds like a 80s song.
the raven is like a dark mysterious person. the song is creepy
What a jam!
If I had my choice I would talk like this, ...... naturally and without a voice box or disease causing it.
I love it since I heard it for the first time!! ;)
At the time of this post the numbers are: 1,625,724 Views; 7400 Likes; 203 Dislikes. So 1 in every 21,383 ppl dislike this song. I guess it's an acquired taste. I change the count to 7400+1 likes.
Impresionantememente bueno.
Immortal greatness is this song !
Tell me... stories of tales and imagination.
.. turned inside... Gustaf. electronic. What`s happening to you?
oh yes the black bird of death or life, pending one's karma
One of the best Albums ever recorded
😎😎😎...
Nevermore waka waka
So this is what Alan Parsons decided to do once he thought he could do better than a few quid a week for Pink Floyd when recording Dark Side of the Moon.
Brilliant.
My upstairs neighbor named her kitten "Poe" after Edgar Allan Poe ;)
Awesome! Thank you
First time I got high I was 14 this was what I listen to....bamm.🚀
Whoever owned The Raven poem must be getting royalties from the song. Poe hated publishers, but he sold the rights to someone. Who owns his work? Is it public domain?
FANTASTIC SONG.
Rented a house in eavansville...this poem was gratified on the wall....ill bet its still there....
WOW, das haut immer noch rein....
The vocoder was used the same year by Steely Dan on Haitian Divorce.
That was a talkbox, not a vocoder.
good music
Like the new guitar added to it.
A great rare song. Amazing.
Tales of Mistery and imagination is one of my favourite album from TAPP..
catagorizing
Electictic Funk Rock? sorry but Alan Parsons the engineer was a pioneer that defies catorigizing
THIS RECORD WHEN I WAS JUST A FUCKING KID, PLAYED ,PLAYED , PLAYED,,,STILL PLAYS ON MY STEREO, AND IM 60 NOW,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Great song, great album.
Sem consistência!
Ah~Dha~Men! 🙏🏽
Thus cause the Raven … NEVERMORE … Edgar Allen Poe
Not correctly. No sense in it.
"Thus quoth the raven: Nevermore!" - That´s it.
thanks for correcting …
An elderly now deceased friend and neighbor was a cousin of Poe. Miss you Juliet Jayne.
i like edgar allan poe..
allen parsons project was beyond their time... i used to really get lost in dr tar and professor feather back in the day... great music!
The Ravens! HABEN SCHON EINMAL DARAN GEDACHT; FÜR wie dumm die Sie halten?!
I
The song bring back memories of beautiful in college banging delta zetas
nice little references to the track I Robot here
LOVE THE vocoder at the beginning... <3
Edgar Allen Poe's "Annabelle Lee by the sea", is my favourite romantic poem...
Yeah Poe
This is amazing. I just saw Alan Parsons live in Jacksonville, Fl, 4-28-2018 and it was amazing
One thing that is severely under credited about this song is the fact that the music group Ambrosia were the ones playing the guitars and drums here, not the former members of the group Pilot that plays on most Alan Parsons Project songs. Youll see Ambrosia's members names on the album credits. Alan Parsons has claimed this was the first song they recorded on Tales of Mystery and Imagination.
Wow that brings back great memories. Thanks for the post
haha love the editing
quouth the the raven, 'what a shine' -simpsons
I loved that movie Romeo and Juliet and I never forgot their names! Awesome coincidence
These birds are quite intelligent!!!!
There will never be brilliant music like Parsons Project.......
