Alan Parsons Project, The - Pyromania Lyrics
There are pyramids in my head!
There's one underneath my bed!
And my lady's getting cranky.
Every possible location
Has a simple explanation
I have read, somewhere in a book,
They improve all your food and your wine.
It's said that everything you grow in your garden will pretty fine,
Instead, all I ever get is a pain in the neck and a
Yap yap yap yap yap yap yap yap!
I've consulted all the sages,
I could find in the yellow pages,
But there aren't many of them...
On my pyramid pajamas
Haven't helped my little problem.
I've been told someone in the know
Can be sure that his luck is as good as gold,
Money in the bank and you don't even pay for it if you fold
A dollar in the shape of the pyramid that's printed on the back.
It's no lie.
You can keep the edge of a razor as sharp as an eagle's eye.
You can grow a hedge that is vertically straight, over ten feet high.
All you really need is a pyramid and just a little luck.
I have read, somewhere in a book,
They improve all your food and wine
And I've been told,
Someone in the know
Can be sure of his good luck and it's no lie.
All you really need is a little bit of pyramidic
Help!

I have the original LP, and yes, I was a much, much younger man when I purchased it. Love the album.
I bought this record sometime around spring of 2019 cause it was $3 and i wanted to try something random.. i love it

Duncan Mackay en los Teclados....Grande.
Sounds like a lost XTC song
ELO + Talking Heads

the cd cover man what are you a nerd pleb
The Alan Parsons project, all you have to know is this is the best damn band in the world. and they belong in the rock n roll hall of fame. are you kidding me nwa some street scum get into the hall of fame. and these guy's get no recognition, respect, acknowledgment, some damn world we live in. all good talent is dismissed lost and hidden in the mountain of shit of what is mainstream talentless mindless music of today.
Well sir, since we have that, it's pretty safe to say that Alan Parsons Project, a very well renamed Rock & Roll group, deserves way more to be inducted in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, rather than NWA, though a good group, non a Rock & Roll group at all, man.
umm, you forgot the 'rant ended' at the end of your post
sk sk Look man, people like yourself need to give the Hall of Fame whining a rest. I used to be the same way!!! I came to the conclusion that an institution dedicated to the history of the greatest performers in the genre of rock and roll is really just a giant crap bucket that has honored 80s pop and hip hop acts, yet somehow it takes them forever to honor Deep Purple, Blue Oyster Cult, Rush, Jethro Tull, etc. Obviously, they never intended to start a rock n roll Hall of Fame. They intended to start a poppy chart topper Hall of Fame. I don't know all of them, but Madonna shouldn't be there, she doesn't play rock n roll, I'm pretty sure KC Sunshine Band are in there. They were a popular disco group that had some rock n roll over tones. Even if they were lumped in with rock and roll, there are definitely many bands that were either deeply rooted rock and roll that most likely should have been selected far before a disco band. I know there are at least 4 or 5 for sure and 4 or 5 more that one could maybe argue a bit before they realize that they are all just best selling artists, a Hit maker Hall of Fame, a Dance/Hip Hop Hall of Fame, Country and Western Hall of Fame, Jazz Hall of Fame, Blues Hall of Fame, etc. The best artists would be the ones that had enough crossover appeal to be inducted into two or more of the Music Halls. Think bands including but not limited to Sly and the Family Stone (rock n roll R&B) Genesis,ELP,King Crimson, Jethro Tull (Classical and Rock), The Beastie Boys,Faith no More,Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park ( Rap and rock) any number of blues or cuntry performers could also be categorized as rock Joe Bonamassa, John Lee Hooker, Hank Williams Jr., Charlie Daniels Band, etc. Michael Jackson had a few songs that were more than qualified to be rock (Beat It, Thriller, Smooth Criminal, Leave me Alone, Black or White, etc. I'm fine with acts that have the qualities of more than one genre, provided.the music is being categorized within it's proper genres. I agree that Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is certainly titled quite loosely considering the boil over of performers of so many genres outside of rock and roll or performers who could be considered rock n roll over heated shouts of disagreement. I think music should be sorted into basic genres for such purposes. Once the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame realizes they actually are a Gold Record Sellers Hall of Fame (which will never happen, I believe the whole thing is politically motivated . Its a sad and disingenuous way for the government to force diversity into every single element of life, in addition to the obvious reasons of Record Sales and popularity and radio friendliness.) It's all very sad really. There are rockers of all colors, religions, genders, etc. There are white rappers, black Country artists (thank you Darius Rucker), Asian rockers, Mexican rockers, Mexican Hip Hop, Black Punk Rockers, and dozens more to add. Do we really need some stuffy asshole at a certain unfortunately named RnR HoF to give our favorite artists approval. No matter the genre or skin color or nationality of anyone who reads this, I hope it makes at least a bit of sense. If they are going to keep inducting completely unrelated artists to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame it should be renamed, and if it is NOT, any artists who cannot meet the requirements of the Rock and Roll genre should be removed temporarily from the hall until they determine the genre of music that the artist ACTUALLY IS!
It's not even music.
Hhhheeeeyyy, rap takes skill
To tolerate
vocal is too high in that song, music is not progressive, not underground, not rock.... it sounds like Electric Light Orchestrain my opinion, it's a bad song
+Gonzo-sud Gonzo-sud ROFL
matter of opinion. One of my least favorite APP songs, but my brother loved it and used to sing it all the time (annoying)
I agree, it definitely sounds like elo but it's not a bad song

You can definitely here the New Wave influence.
this one by APP is new to me begs the question was this influenced by XTC or the other way around?
I remembert the Pyramid craze.
Got to be the most lovable songs form Alan Parson
Claro.

Alan Parsons Project: sensacional!!!
Haven't heard this in years. it would be great to see an original video for it.
I want to see the original music video again. Please someone find it and post it.
God I love this. Got the Essential Alan Parsons Project for Christmas, and I can't get enough!
@MultiGubgub Precisely what you should be wearing is a pyramid. And that's it. Nothing else!
are you saying that the pajamas don't work......
..."and the mayan panoramas, on my pyramid pajamas, haven´t helped my little problem"... superb.
@Sciochick , you're not the only one...the trend,as always, came later to countries like mine (Spain), so in the 80's we were all buying pyramids and all the rest...
@TyRYANasaurus Wow, I love your anecdote! That is a wonderful and memorable way to discover this incredible band! Almost as mysterious as the album art and music on it!
PS: Doesn't the front AND back cover *totally* match the whole mood of the music?? Pyramid is my favourite APP cover art. If only Alan had worn Mayan panorama pajamas on it... :-/
This is truly a great album! Great song!!
I loved this album when it came out and it's still one of my favs!!
I have always liked the scientific side of the APP's music! That tune is my favorite! Alan parsons Project: best band for science enthousiasts!...
"Pyramania" sounds like the orchestral part of "Silence and I ".
Clever, clever, clever.
Thank you! Have "I' Robot," "Pyramid," "Eve," and "Turn of a Friendly Card" on vinyl...thankd God for college days (now I'm dating myself.) Why aren't these on cd???

... "I´ve consulted all the sages

But there arent many of them
And the myan panoramas
On my pyramid pajamas
Haven´t helped my little problem"...
One of my favourite albums ever, it sounds incredible and the compositions are inspired and have great arrangements. I pick it up every couple of months and I remember it note for note. I would take this cd to a deserted island :-)
It isn't hanky-panky.
lol
nananananananananananananana
baouuhh (DEEP VOICE OMG)
True I suppose. Nonetheless, it's still awesome.
I must buy this cd. I remember growing up and seeing my older brother playing the LP all day long.
Sounds very much like a tuba, but I am positive that this is an analog synthesizer. Those 16th notes would sound very different on a real tuba (not to mention that it would need a world class virtuoso player).
1:40
Tuba solo... this cannot be described in words.
Hey, those are EXACTLY my words!!! My favourite part is with the pyramid pyjamas! APP = 110% Genius!!! :-)
I love this song. "My little problem." Funny!!! Woolfson. Genius!!!
