Alan Parsons Project, The - Breakdown Lyrics

I breakdown in the middle and lose my thread
No one can understand a word that I say
When I breakdown just a little and lose my head
Nothing I try to do can work the same way

Any time it happened, I'd get over it
With a little help from all my friends
Anybody else could see what's wrong with me
But they walk away and just pretend

When I breakdown

I breakdown in the middle and lose my thread
No one can understand a word that I say
When I breakdown just a little and lose my head
Nothing I try to do can work the same way

Where are all the friends who used to talk to me?
All they ever told me was good news
People that I've never seen are kind to me
Is it any wonder I'm confused?

When I breakdown...When I breakdown

Freedom, freedom, we will not obey
Freedom, freedom, take the wall away
Take the wall away
Freedom, freedom, we will not obey
Freedom, freedom, take the wall away
Where are all my friends?
I'm so confused
Take the wall away
Take the wall away
Won't somebody help me?

Dam folk's. the Future from the Past. Are you listening. Advanced beyond years

  13. V.... D....

Consider this: between 'Breakdown' and 'I wouldn't want to be like you' literally span the spectrum of human social interaction. From mental Breakdown and lack of self confidence to total self confidence and the ability to ward off the intimidations and controlling natures of others toward you. These two songs alone portray the greatness of this album. It needs more love!!!!

  14. J.... K....

    An ode to our presidente!

I’ve always wanted to comment on certain lyrics in The Alan Parsons Project song “Breakdown”! So, here’s Jonathan Tad Ketchen’s (@NudistPoet) commentary:

“Where are all the friends who used to talk to me?
All they ever told me was good news”

If all your friends ever tell you is good news, they are lying to you, and they are not your friends.

“People that I’ve never seen are kind to me
Is it any wonder I’m confused?”

That’s so sad, that people being kind to you causes you confusion. Kindness should be normal, not an aberration. So sad.

    — Jonathan Tad Ketchen

    My world

  51. J.... V....

Can you name the singer here? Listen closely..........Allan Clarke, lead singer of The Hollies lent his vocal talents and sang this incredible tune for The Alan Parsons Project. The Project used many session singers and musicians on the earlier albums before Eric Woolfson started to sing lead on many of their hits. Eric did sing on many of the "Demo" versions of the earlier songs so the actual singers would know to they should sing the song on the studio recordings.

When I breakdown in the middle and lose my thread
No one can understand a word that I say
When I breakdown just a little and lose my head
Nothing I try to do can work the same way.

Any time it happened, I’d get over it
With a little help from all my best friends
Anybody else could see what’s wrong with me
But they walk away and just pretend.

    When I breakdown.

When I breakdown in the middle and lose my thread
No one can understand a word that I say
When I breakdown just a little and lose my head
Nothing I try to do can work the same way.

Where are all the friends who used to talk to me?
All they ever told me was good news
People that I’ve never seen are kind to me
Is it any wonder I’m confused?.

    When I breakdown
    When I breakdown.

    Take the wall away
(Freedom, freedom, we will not obey)
(Freedom, freedom, take the wall away)
    Where are all my friends?
    I’m so confused
    Take the wall away
    (Freedom, freedom)
    Take the wall away
    (Freedom, freedom)
    Take the wall away
    (Freedom, freedom)
    Will somebody help me?.

Man I Miss 70s Radio ! So Many Great Prog Rock Bands Look Like Prophets & Their Songs Prophecies Today, Some Great Minds & Great Musicians !!

  87. K.... L....

This song understands my times I can't go on

  88. S.... E....

Alan Parsons shits on "depressing" pink floyd :)

  89. G.... N....

At 2:42 its the blatant point why this album should be a broadway musical, you need a world class choir to sing the background vocals, obviously the song should be much longer that is the only fault, easily corrected in the musical.

  90. F.... T....

    Classy. High five!

  91. L.... W....

    t
    really

  92. N.... I....

This tune and Tom Petty's "Breakdown" are Chicken Soup for the Soul on a bad day.

    N.... I....

I use to think this was Tom Petty

  93. V.... D....

I guess I'm the only one impressed by "Anybody else could see what's wrong with me, but they walk away and just pretend!"
Also "Where are all my friends!, my 'so-called' friends?!" My life experiences have made these lines very applicable, unfortunately. Oh well.

    V.... D....

    I know.

  94. J.... M....

    Great album. Still have it.

  95. P.... t....

    2018 HAPPY NEW YEAR Y'ALL !!!🎉🎈🎊🎈🎊🎉🐉
