Agony Scene, The - The Submissive Lyrics

Take the flesh on your tongue
Fellate the divine
What is man but the image of God
Created for service

Crawl - On bended knees in submission
Atone - Speak his name as you take him inside

I will be still
Be still and know that he is
Be still and know that he is God

And blessed are the young
The feeble of mind
What is God in the eyes of a child
A tool for obedience

Crawl - On bended knees in submission
Atone - Speak his name as you take him inside

I will be still
Be still and know that he is God

Know that he is God
Know that he is

Be filled with the spirit
Second coming of Christ
Bless the meek and submissive
And precious in his sight

Crawl - On bended knees in submission
Atone - Speak his name as you take him inside

I will be still
Be still and know that he is God

Know that he is God
Know that he is God
Know that he is God
Be still and know that he is

Agony Scene, The The Submissive Comments
  1. J.... A....

this is not a Christian band. youve got standard athiest arguments right in the song. for a bunch of anti-God/athiests, yall sure dont seem to have a grasp on your enemy very well. resistance without education is simply blind hatred

     blessed are the young
    The feeble of mind
What is God in the eyes of a child
    A tool for obedience

or in othet words... God was created to keep children in line and submissive.

  2. F.... F....

    Not bad

  3. B.... B....

So are you guys Christian or what? Cause the story keeps flip flopping.

    B.... B....

    Good question

    B.... B....

I think they were only ever considered a Christian band because of the label they were on, but this album clearly couldnt be further from it

  4. S.... R....

The album is amazing guys! Couldn't have asked for a better comeback. Riffs upon riffs, the drumming is tight and fast and Mike, the vocals are on point. As good as ever. Thank you!

  5. F.... M....

    Straight ripper \m/

  6. A.... A....

To everyone who thinks this is christian: You need to improve your comprehension skills.

To everyone pushing the anti-religion theory: This is closer to satanism than anything. (believing that god exists, but opposing him/her/it)

  7. G.... H....

My ears are so fucking pleased! THANK YOU FOR COMING BACK!!!!

  8. V.... E....

    Sounds like Blackened Hardcore 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽

  9. M.... ....

    FUCK YES welcome back METALCORE

  10. D.... y....

This is hardcore. Gonna seem on August 2nd. Uh huh. 😬

  11. G.... ....

    Very blah

  12. H.... O....

"take the flesh of your tongue and fellate the divine?" Really?

  13. A.... F....

I wanna vomit so hard wtf is this garbage!!! Scapegoat is like one of my all time faves. This praise Jesus in blood gurgle is truly an agonising scene.

    Someone tell me I'm dreaming

    A.... F....

They are anti-religious, you are just dumb and can't read or listen apparently

  14. M.... M....

    Metal Malitia

  15. M.... L....

Die Breakdowns ähneln sehr He's A Woman She's A Men von den Scorpions aus dem Jahr 1977.

  16. K.... V....

Well this song proves The Agony Scene is indeed Christian

    K.... V....

Justin Waller yeah true but it also says "be still and know he is God"

    K.... V....

    Are you daft?

    K.... V....

Kurt Roberts maybe but I still love this song anyways

    K.... V....

Kyle Victor Lockhart the lyrics are a mocking tone. The song is called the submissive. There is a graphic reference and the songs start, and it's all about religion taking away freewill and followers being too ignorant to see it. They were never a Christian band. Even with their solid state release nearly all the songs were about self hatred and seeking suicide as a solution. They even did a cover of Paint it Black.

    K.... V....

michael matthew gotch you. I should have picked up on that. I've been listening to too much Impending Doom I guess lol

  17. C.... C....

There we fucking go!!! That first song had me kind of scared. Not that it wasn't bad. Just was expecting more intensity from the agony scene. This is dope.

  18. E.... P....

So they finally went full christian. Shame.

    E.... P....

they claim to not be a christian band back in the day.

    E.... P....

Jesus christ, are any of you people actually reading the lyrics?? They're so anti christian its not even funny.

    E.... P....

If it was meant tongue in cheek then I would agree this to be anti Christian but I read everything and it sounded like a alter boy who digs metal.

    An old fan very disappointed

    E.... P....

Why would it be a shame if they were Christians? I thought we were in an age of logical tolerance and acceptance, gaining new insights and perspectives from all spheres/walks of life on how to get the most out of life, treat ourselves and others with the respect we/they deserve, and to live at peace with each other, building one another up towards something more beautiful and fulfilled, But I guess not. Shame.

    E.... P....

this band is in no way a Christian band. they out right mock scripture in this album. i came to check it out because they used to be metal worship... now i have no interest left

  19. K.... S....

I'll be 100% honest, as someone who's been in the metalcore scene for a while, I've seen all kinds of new bands and shit, some good, some bad. Don't hate, but personally, I don't see anything too special about this one.. Concept and lyrics are sub-par, and vocals are stereotypical. I know bands put lots of time into their music, but I can't find anything too special about this one

    K.... S....

Funny, saying the melody is all over the place and that there's no groove whatsoever sound more like statements than opinions. Now, if you said you didn't enjoy or prefer the melodies and weren't feeling the grooves then you would be stating your opinion. Since we're playing a game. Playing the "opinion" card after you've clearly made a statement is risky. Especially when someone has a "logic" card in hand. The melodies are there and the grooves are intact. Thanks for playing....

    K.... S....

I did make a statement. And it's obviously my opinion, since it's coming from me. I didn't feel the need to preface it with that. Not to mention, the subject matter at hand is so subjective, there can't be a right and a wrong. If my opinion is that the melody's all over the place, and that there's no groove. That's my own opinion. How else am I supposed to offer it outside of a statement? I'm not the one in the wrong place. I'm in the perfect place to share my thoughts. Just because you feel differently, doesn't mean I should kick rocks because my opinions are "wrong."

    K.... S....

While I disagree with your opinions, Your opinions are not wrong. They simply come from a place of either poor tastes, inexperience or for a lack of a better word, Ignorance. I wouldn't expect a child to walk into the Sistine Chapel and understand Michelangelo's work. So yes, Your opinion argument is valid ;)

    K.... S....

So because my personal opinion of this song and this album differs from yours, I'm ignorant to what "good music" is, and I have poor taste in music? That's a bold statement, sir. You don't have the slightest clue what my taste in music is, and you don't know anything about me to be suggesting that I'm ignorant. Just because two people disagree on a piece of music, doesn't make one "right" and one "wrong." And it certainly doesn't justify one calling the other ignorant with zero knowledge of that person's history.

    K.... S....

I'm sorry man. Honestly, I've been fucking around and dragging this out for no reason other than my own morbid amusement. I was laughing pretty hard when I thought of that "I wouldn't expect a child to walk into the Sistine Chapel" bullshit. Truce?

  20. R.... A....

Dudes, Dudes, dudes! This is so fucking awesome, keep up the good work and plan a European Tour and come to Romania! :>

  21. M.... ....

Is it "bended knees" or "bended knee" ? Sounds like "knees"

    M.... ....

The Underprivileged Kid I do believe it is Knees

  22. C.... D....

Like I said before, it's been 10 years in the making. I'm so glad you guys are back!!!!!

  23. B.... M....

If not for the Bible this band would have no lyrical content...

  24. A.... ....

    Go gi go/ go!

  25. I.... S....

    This video is cringy af

  26. S.... B....

This is the perfect progression to their sound..!
Love the two new singles. This record is going to be pure fire!!

  27. T.... ....

Damn, just under 600 views on my screen. Should definitely be way more, cause this shit rips. Solid return.

  28. D.... A....

Hell yea!! Best of the newly returning bands!

  29. W.... S....

Amazing song from an amazing band, one of the best in the day, HAIL FROM BRAZIL

  30. K.... S....

    Fuck yeah! Better than ever!

  31. S.... M....

First Bleeding Through, then As I Lay Dying, now The Agony Scene. Real Metalcore is hencing forth a hard hitting comeback.

Tormentor is definitely shaping up to be a contender for one of the best metal album of 2018 to me, judging by the two single they release so ffar :D

    S.... M....

Born of Fire Yeah, I smell a purist.

    S.... M....

JPence14 Yeah, i notice it also has some black metal in it too. TAS are really stepping up their game.

    S.... M....

Sepia MtAnoia I'm hoping to go see them in August, along with Between the Buried and Me, Born of Osiris, and Allegaeon.

    S.... M....

Not to mention Through the Eyes of the Dead and Threat Signal had new albums come out late last year. And though they don't really have much -core left in their sound, the new Hopesfall album sounds like it's going to be amazing

    S.... M....

Sepia MtAnoia i know, isn't this crazy? All these awesome metal bands that we thought were dead and buried have risen from their graves to assault our senses once more! Kind of like when Walls of Jericho released NOCSYFY in 2016 after almost a decade of silence, but they didn't miss a fucking beat, that album might be their heaviest of all! (Definitely made up for the disappointing American Head Charge comeback album...😢) Now Bleeding Through and my Oklahoma brothers The Agony Scene are back in action, and of course As I Lay Dying! (Although personally I'm looking forward to new Austrian Death Machine or a similar project!) It's like all the real metal bands are sick of hearing the garbage we've been subjected to lately, and are taking it upon themselves to bring real motherfucking metal BACK!
