Just keep wondering the meaning of the words. It really gives the feeling of something delicate got fractured and defiled by something dark, but nevertheless I might be totally wrong. "Heaven hid her face as we fell down" / "One would sing and one would hold me down", do I even dare to ask what happened there.

There is great beauty in the sadness of this song, and it even gets better in the second half when the melody changes, and fades away in the end.

People who compare them just show how little they understand of their art..

There's some overlap in mood, especially when it comes to big haunting melodies and sk gs that make you feel things you cant name. To me it's more of an emotional sphere they occasionally share. They're very different artists.

@Stella Rothe Agnes writes her own songs, music and lyrics. She also plays many, if not all of the instruments on her albums. I'm also classically trained, but don't really see any superiority in Lana, who is very souped up, in many ways. I never even thought of the two occupying the same space. But you're right, they don't have to, to each their own, and they can both exist happily in the world.

The gig reminded me of a London Grammar gig I Saw a few years ago :

I was central front row circle.Only saw twp people with mobile phones. The audience was the oldest since I saw the Zombies around 10 years ago (no mobile phones that night)
it was clear the gig was not sold out which is far more unusual these days. Live music seems to be more popular now than even 10+ years ago. Until relatively recently I always used to pay on the door. Wouldn't work nowadays !
ps Agnes surprised me with her wry sense of humour and comments. Would have loved to have seen her a few years ago in the Hare and Hounds pub (said she had played twice at that venue and really liked it)
pps Awful support (IMO) the last track seemed to last longer than war and peace (lol)
