AFI - Death Of Season Lyrics
Of late, it's harder just to go outside
To leave this deadspace with hatred, so alive
Writhing with sickness, thrown into banality, I decay
Killed by the weakness, but forced to return, turn it off
I held a fallen star and it wept for me, dying
I feel the fallen stars encircle me, now as they cry
Out there so quickly grows malignant tribes
Posthuman extinction excels unrecognized
Feeling surrounded, so bored with mortality, I decay
All of this hatred is fucking real, turn it on... yeah
I watch the stars as they fall from the sky
I held a fallen star and it wept for me, dying
It won't be all right despite what they say
Just watch the stars tonight as they, as they disappear, disintegrate
And I disintegrate 'cause this hate is fucking real
And I hope to shade the world as stars go out and I disintegrate

This is so 2003!
"This hate....is Fucking Real" *Goosebumps*
I feel Davey was angry on this album. I fucking love it 🤘🤘🤘
I can't believe I have never seen them 😭😭😭😭 saw Davey do his DJ thing but not AFI 😭😭😭😭
I have always thought that this song is about Lucifer observing the decline of humanity in the end of civilization, and remembering how he fell from the heavens with his brother angels, and reflecting on the ruin of men as a parallel
are you a Satanist? Some good friends of mine are Satanists too. i used to have a crush on Satan. Even though I never seen him I'm sure hes a very handsome guy. he was an angel after all. I'm not a Satanist though I'm actually a Christian but not on of those asshole Christians I'm a proud bisexual too. God and some of the angels talk to me and some of my friends.
When emo never felt so good
This album was my favorite when I was 16. Especially this song.
I love this intro

“Cuz this hate is f@&$ real is epic”
This song is art.
perfect...
Wow I heard this song for the first time when I was 11 yrs old and I always felt it was powerful but now that I'm 27 I feel it even more powerful than ever idk why
Reminded me when I used to live in Zacatecas. Made a road trip to Mty to watch Silverstein and on the car we where playin AFI, Thrice, comeback kid, etc... good times and memories <3
@Oscar Rull Seeing Silverstein do Discovering The Waterfront live was legit on of my favorite memories ever.
Cause the song is about how people get trapped living the way their culture or government forces them to or at least they feel trapped having to do it in fear of ridicule. And how the small amount of time you have here is spent pandering to that fear until it's too late and your time is up, and all you end up leaving behind is the hunger for freedom. The darkness that that world created. At least that's what I always got from the lyrics. So it's understandable how a 27 year old might understand that more than an 11 year old lol
Lol me tooo same age when I started seeing them on either MTV or vh1 and now im 27. The nostalgia is real
@Stokage That's not what the song is about
Time to go back to 5th grade 2016!
Best on album.
This entire album speaks right into my soul. ❤
It hiccups into mine.... But with a kickass beat and rhythm....and lots o' screaming too lol
This album literally saved my life.
Powerful
The electronic break down always reminds me of Nine Inch Nails
Jaki Norton Yes!!
I have a hardcore feeling into this song ..... Still lovin' it
What do you feel hearing this song and what’s the first thing you think about
High school days, jamming to this album on my way to school.
How many hrs of my life ive spent working minimum wage.
"I feel": my crotch, and "I think about": Davey Havoc(the more recent Davey with facial whiskers and UNplucked eyebrows) lol ✊ wooooh! Heck yessir! 😳😬
I feel like doing oxy again and I think about how good that felt lmao. I was a trippy hippy when this came out.
Being a young kid in middle school and living in a desert town.
No one liked this tyoe of music like I did. I was instantly drawn to this band after watching The Leaving Song Pt. 2 on Fuse and had to look them up in school!
That was in 2003.
It is now 2019 and I am 30.
Still my favorite song on Sing The Sorrow!!!
Who is Chris fucking reeaaaall?!
yo espero que AFI venga al knotfest 2017 😣😍😍🙄😂🔥🔥🤘
this album was perfection
i love this song
This is one of their strongest songs. They totally could have crossed over to a hybrid hardcore electronic dance and friggin killed it.
Good news, that's actually a thing. It's called Aggrotech. Be careful though, its so hardcore some people actually spontaneously combust.
they did
So like every post hardcore band in the mid 2000’s?
that would have made this sound absolutely garbage, maybe you like garbage and i dont. who is to say garbage sound is bad? maybe im missing something from not liking garbage
@A92ndf9 558 I'm only happy when it rains
Oh they are, they just kind of sold themselves out and aren't as awesome.
With their new stuff? Definitely sold out. Also, what's with the short hair?!
How is THIS sold out? And lol they still aren’t very popular, you know. Just because they changed doesn’t mean they “sold out”. Would you like them to stay the same, ALL the time? Just the same thing OVER and OVER and OVER again? No. You’d be complaining that they never evolved or grew as a band. Just enjoy this for what it is.
chris cobain thank you.
NEW EP OUT AND YOU ARE LITERALLY EATING YOUR WORDS.
They never sold out. People said that this album was their sell out album since this was their first step away from pure punk. This was the first time they really evolved their sound.
The December Underground then further distanced themselves from the punk scene. Crash Love was sort of lame. I have not listened to their new stuff, but Im guessing they probably sound way different than what they have produced in the past.
Every album from AFI is so unique. One could never confuse Black Sails with December Underground, and both are spectacular in their own right. Sing the Sorrow is my favorite though. I love the sound and emotion this album has.
1:09 This is a prelude to their next album, "December Underground." Just listen to that sweet industrial influenced electronica!
What the fuck. I grew up with this band. And now I'm sad that they are not around anymore. Well shit maybe they are and I'm just getting too old. Well shit at least I can still enjoy the messages that they instilled in my heart, because they still ring true to this day.
+Gabby Anarchy AFI isnt gone. They just had a new album in 2013, and Davey/Jade are still doing Blaqk Audio as well.
Gabby Anarchy New album yesterday.
Its not even the same type of music.
@hobo, agreed. its better.
