This is part of the beauty of this song IMO. While it was written about the beauty of touring and putting their blood, sweat and tears into what satisfies their fans in return for their admiration, it means something rather different to me - something difficult to explain. It's almost spiritual to me.

Little Green Gamer I agree with you. This song and their song "God called in sick today ", both do that. When I listen to this song , it's like it takes me to a place of reflection. I tend to think about the near misses and joys in my life. Hope that makes sense. Of all the replies I've seen on here, I like yours the best. You seemed to have absorbed the song as apposed to commenting on the things of the surface, as many tend to do. I am nobody, but rather a kindred soul, so I hope you retain the ability to absorb a great song and it's meaning to you rather than what the world deems as it's value. Take care.

The guitars sing a song of their own. It's amazing, this isn't a complex song at all musically, but the feeling it has, and the emotion it brings is. What an amazing band they were, are, and always will be.

"Your fire makes it all worth while!" Proof that they love their fans! There's more to being a musician than just being worshiped. Long road trips, lots of hard work, a lot of pressure, but that line is how EVERY great musician must feel. It's a lot of work but to hear all of those fans screaming for you because you touched their soul in some way should be EVERY musicians dream. Not money, not worship for the sake of worship but to know that you affected someone in some way.

@Dr490n I know opinions like yours are somewhat common amongst the older contigent of AFI fans, but no. I emphatically disagreed with this notion in 2006, in 2009, and still do.

But whatever, 6 to 8 is an awesome song and I'm sure we can agree on that.

AFI is AFI.

This is one of the songs that make me miss the old afi more then everrrrr.....but always a fan. <3

@hiu121 That must have been awesome...I've only seen them once (warped tour 2001) but I didn't really know at the time that they would be one of my favorite bands.

@Stu1570 Sometimes I wish this whole album was recorded more like Black Sails or All Hallow's. (punchier bass drum) It's really good though.
