Afghan Whigs, The - Fountain And Fairfax Lyrics

Angel, I'm sober
I got off that stuff
Just like you asked me to
Angel, come closer
So the stink of your lies
Sinks into my memory

She said baby, forever,
But I don't like to be alone
So don't stay away too long
Now baby, forever,
Well it's Tuesday now
I hear him breathing inside of her

Let me drink
Let me tie off
I'm really slobbering now
Let it stink
Let it dry up
Is it impossible how

Angel, forever
Don't you promise me
What you cannot deliver
Angel, together
I'll be waiting for you
On Fountain and Fairfax

Let me drink
Let me tie off
I'm really slobbering now
Let me stink
Let it dry up
Is it impossible how

Let it stink

Let it dry up

Dry up, dry up

Fountain and Fairfax is an intersection with a church that hosted AA meetings. Greg's friend took him to one.

Afghan Whigs is the greatest band to ever come out of Cincinnati. I bought this album in '93, and played it til it wouldn't play any more. It's on my iPod now. They're the finest alternative rock ever had to offer...powerful, dark, disturbed. I often wish I could go back to this time, just for a while...just to experience it all again when it was new.

    Area Man
Greatest band from Cincinnati for sure

  9. K.... S....

I cannot believe that there aren't more comments for this song! It is a masterpiece!

  10. B.... D....

Gentlemen is one of the greatest albums ever recorded. And no Mudhoney fuckheads it's not "grunge"

    B.... D....

thats so damn true!! even cause GRUNGE is something that never existed...it was just a mainstream word, used to justify the unbelievable amount of useless articles about "the next big thing" back in the early 90's
