Academy Is..., The - In The Rearview Lyrics

So I got your message
And its been a long time
Since we have spoken face to face
I cant help to question your cause of interest
Its just like the dead lay buried in the grave
Right now
and I was feeling just content enough to forget you
I've found skeletons grow stronger when kept from the light

I would rather die than admit that I
Don't know don't know
I would rather die than admit that I
Don't know don't know
You would rather be alone than admit you were wrong
Than admit you were wrong

There's blood on the freeway
Painting a poisoned past
Kissed with a hard rain washed away
You're back to your old ways
Carelessly leaving tracks
The road you have chosen
I refuse to take
Right Now
and I was feeling just content enough to forget you
I've found skeletons grow stronger when kept from the light

I would rather die than admit that I
Don't know don't know
I would rather die than admit that I
Don't know don't know
You would rather be alone than admit you were wrong

I would rather die than admit that I
Don't know don't know
I would rather die than admit that I
Don't know don't know
You would rather be alone

Right now
and I was feeling just content enough to forget you
I've found that skeletons grow stronger when kept in the rearview

Academy Is..., The In The Rearview Comments
  1. Zombie

This could not be more relevant. Why now, when I was feeling just content enough to forget you?

  2. Monica Biscocho

    NOSTALGIA

  3. The Acid Flashback at Nightmare Beach

The last song the band ever released. One of the most powerful, too.

  4. Lamusiqe13

This is the last song they ever released, which makes me really sad, just because it's so good. A band like this doesn't deserve to die after only three albums and a couple EPs.

  5. K.A.M.

i love this song so much !!

  6. LiFExONxMARS

Does anyone know the chords to this song?

  7. NewForkCity

@hottsk8rgirl ...I never once said I didn't like it. I actually adore TAI, and this EP. Take notice of the part where I said William's lyrics are incredible. Does that sound like a negative comment to you?
And in regards to me calling it "garbage"-- you completely missed what I was saying. That was my response to OTHER comments on this video calling it garbage, not my own opinion.
Before you start making assumptions, try to actually read what you're replying to.

  8. NewForkCity

Call it pop/rock garbage if you wish, because, even as a huge TAI fan, I will agree that this isn't exactly a unique sound. However, you can't deny that William's lyrics on the EP are incredible. (Sit down and read "Days Like Masquerades" if you don't believe me.)

i don't understad what gives people the right to say certain thigns aren't good or that it isn't music. i hate rap, but am i going to tell people that it isn't music? no, because everyone has their own tastes and not everyone will agree on what music is good and what msuic isn't good.

  10. Sophie Kind

bought the EP, The Academy Is... did a good job...

  11. Terra McClain

    Love these lyrics

  12. SheriffTanner

@anoutofthisworldgirl are you from b-town? not many people know "the academy". i still have my memento mori ep :-D

  13. anoutofthisworldgirl

ok so i have to giv you a little credit...this isnt there best work. However this is not as bad as fast times. i love the academy is since they were just the academy and i understand your annoyance with everyone "omg i LURVE this"- ing it...if that made any sense. regarless this is still william and the crew so i like them. btw the academy ep and almost here were undoubtedly their best albums.

  14. SheriffTanner

p.s. smiley face so you know im chill. :-)

  15. SheriffTanner

@dunch34 lol, im a total music elitist, its true. but it's my job (literally) to be. and im good at my job.

  16. SheriffTanner

this is just bad pop/rock for girls. tai's golden age was "almost here" and pre-"almost here." santi wasnt bad, but the only good thing about fast times was it's mentioning of lake barrington. this is just more pop/ rock garbage music that has already been made 1000 times over. go ahead and give me the thumbs down, as im posting this in a comment beneath one of their music vids, but i'm right.

  17. cooliomedia

    dont know dont know

  18. Tina Huang

i think the question mark part says,
"just like the dead lays in their graves"
