10cc - Waterfall Lyrics

Gonna meet you on the corner
Gonna take you out of town
Out to where the grass is greener
And no one can be found

Gonna be there in the morning
Gonna take you by the hand
Gonna get out of the city
Gonna get back to the land

Waterfall, and it's fallin' down on me
Waterfall, and it's fallin' down
But it ain't gonna let me be

Gonna be there in the morning
Gonna take you by the hand
Gonna get out of the city
Gonna get back to the land

Waterfall, and it's fallin' down on me
Waterfall, and it's fallin' down
But it ain't gonna let me be

Hey, Waterfall
Hey, Waterfall
Hey, Waterfall
Hey, Waterfall

    superb!

  2. F.... D....

    Neil Young?

  3. C.... C....

Sounds like Neill Young, and I hate that bastard.

Brill. Recorded at stwaberry studios stockport

  5. G.... D....

my boy is a new convert to real innovative music .

  6. S.... D....

Always reminds me of a 10 day holiday in Arenal in Mallorca in 1973....topless birds in the bars at lunchtime. X

  7. C.... M....

This song sounds like Crosby Stills and Nash more than 10cc... interesting. Like billy Joel, these guys are musical chameleons.

  8. K.... ....

Eric has such a sweet vocals in this song. Love it!

  9. P.... W....

    You are Smart that's all

  10. A.... B....

Hey Hey My My aswell in it.

  13. S.... ....

  14. S.... ....

I'm glad I like to go listening to random music. Wouldn't have found this little gem otherwise. at 23, no one in my age group listens to this stuff

    S.... ....

    They are missing a lot.

    S.... ....

I am also 23, that makes two of us.

    S.... ....

I was your age when I discovered these guys about 10 years ago. Great music!
    😎🐺

    S.... ....

I was 19 when I first heard this. Still awesome song.

    S.... ....

    @Holden Curren make that three

  15. r.... g....

It really reminds me of Fade To Black ,by Neil young

  16. S.... D....

I must admit , I preferred this to Rubber Bullets, a fan ever since.

  17. N.... S....

ps, perhaps The 'Fabs' are not THE best example of this particular argument, because as like Led Zeppelin, the demand for more, er, 'product' is such that everything they ever recorded ended up being released on a compilation album.

  18. N.... S....

Y'see now, this is the PROBLEM with music streaming interweb sites; offer tracks from albums only, therefore, when it comes to a song released independently of an LP (The Beatles 45s for example) or a little known, though most excellent B side, ie, 'Waterfall', by 10cc, they ain't got it mate, 'ave they?!

    N.... S....

    its on the first album

  19. t.... s....

it was because of this song on the b side of rubber bullets i bought their first album and been a fan since

  20. M.... W....

They look like (but don't sound like) a prototype System of a Down!

  21. i.... m....

super song sung by a great group

  22. H.... F....

His vocals remind me a bit of Neil Young here.

    H.... F....

    Hey Hey, My My

  23. P.... C....

  25. V.... B....

    Amazing track! Thanks for sharing.

  26. J.... C....

Before they were named 10cc they took this to Apple and in case it was picked up Lol and Kev got a b side ready just in case - that was Donna. When JK heard Donna that was it and the rest is history !

  27. m.... d....

sounds so fresh, as fresh as a summers waterfall:)

  28. m.... s....

It' the only song I have been hearing for the last 40 years but never got tired, it's always a refreshing song, legendary song

    m.... s....

madhusudan shiva uncle kahan gayab ho... aapka no. bhi nai milta

    m.... s....

    Agree! Listening to my record

  29. A.... ....

Lovely harmonies and the style is so different and melancholy from some of the more tongue-in-cheek stuff. Love the climbing notes on the word "land" at the end of the line. I'm a fan of the great diversity proffered by 10cc.

  30. j.... ....

    ´e.l.o.´ ^^

  34. S.... ....

    Love this song <3 !

  35. J.... O....

  37. M.... M....

what happened where you put etc etc...fuck man finish the story

  38. a.... ....

I was just about to comment about how much it sounds like CSN&Y!

  39. B.... G....

  41. S.... S....

You're probably talking from a musical perpective and not a commercial perspective Moses. I can't believe that this song and Hot Sun Rock were never deemed good enough to go on an album apart from Greatest Hits.

  42. s.... ....

This excellent song did get released as an A side in its own right (backed with '4% of something') a couple of years later, but didn't chart - probably because so many people already had it as the B-side of 'Rubber Bullets'.

  43. f.... ....

Nothing jogs a memory better than listening to B sides.Havent heard this for at least 35 years.

  44. T.... W....

When I first heard this on a vinyl juke box back in 1974/75 I was convinced it was CSN&Y - I was gobsmacked when I found out who it really was - & a B-Side!!! - fab

  45. k.... ....

    love 10cc....

  46. y.... ....

@yamahonduki i am back as promised, thanks again.

  47. k.... ....

i love this . I played it more than the a side rubber bullets..x

  48. f.... o....

    whatever happened to 10cc?

want to know some juicy gossip i heard about them that they dare not print....go to "hey st peter gnowangerups70s" and read my 3 comments.

  49. y.... ....

i played this more than the a side, its an awesome tune in its own right! thanks for sharing this,, i will return to this time and time again.

  50. P.... A....

@georgeglen I can really see that. This, a tune with quite breath-taking harmonies (oh, those vocals!), Rubber Bullets with all of its beat and tongue-in-cheekiness. Imagine that single got worn out fast... ;-)

  51. B.... H....

Waterfall and Rubber Bullets and 1st album was great, after that yawn!

  52. I.... F....

Great to hear again without all the crackle

  53. G.... G....

I used to Play 'Rubbet Bullets' ... turn it over, play 'Waterfall ... turn it over, play 'Rubbet Bullets' ... turn it over, play 'Waterfall ... turn it over, play 'Rubbet Bullets' ... turn it over, play 'Waterfall ... turn it over, play 'Rubbet Bullets' .. etc. etc. :o) Thanks !

  54. T.... ....

    @MrMLD72MLD Beautiful Share!

  55. W.... ....

Yes my father has the 45 of this and Rubber Bullets.

  56. K.... C....

    great band!

  57. P.... K....

A 5 star song: Waterfall - 10cc [Stockport, England] - 1973 - "A British Folk-Psychedelic song with backward guitar riffs at times." - The Best Of The Early Years [Import UK] (Demon Music Group Ltd)-2002.
"The first song 10cc recorded following the quartet's decision to abandon session work and form its own band instead, Eric Stewart and Graham Gouldman's 'Waterfall' was demoed at the band's own Strawberry Studios in early 1972."

  58. r.... ....

I've loved this song since I first heard it on the "100cc - Greatest Hits of 10cc" album. Just got the "Live and Let Live" CD in the mail (after having lost the album 30 years ago) and still love listening to the live version as well.

I still haven't figured out how to play "Waterfall" or "Fresh Air for My Momma" on the guitar.
